Happy November Everyone! Well, this makes it official, when the radio stations start to play Christmas music. There never seems to be enough time to do everything I'd like to do anymore! Guess I'm getting too old for this kind of stuff!

I can't hardly stand it!!! Only 4 more days to Glam on the Grand! It seems like all I've been doing lately is trying to get clothes to look O.K. on me! I've got my packing list printed out, and I'm starting to put things into my Red Hat Bags. I really didn't think I'd be able to get to an Official Red Hat Society Regional Convention! Ever, in my lifetime! And here it is only 4 more days to go. I hope to meet and make all kinds of new friends while I'm there.
AUGUST 11, 2008 ~Update on Snickers
Oh, I forgot to tell you that we had both of Snickers ear canals removed in June. Poor little girl, we had been fighting ear infections for the last three years! Had taken her to see a specialist and had her ears cleaned out surgerial. "PRE-Cancer" was decovered in her left ear. That lead us to the decision to have the canals removed. She came thru surgery really well. The first couple of days, we had to be very careful and carry her outside (because of lack of balance). But, she's doing pretty good right now. Except that her darn left ear is trying to regrow a canal!!! Hopefully, if us cleaning it daily and giving her the medicine, it will work out fine. She sees the Vet. tomorrow, so keep your fingers crossed! Thanks

Well, my husband Kenton, (Ken) had been layed off from Ford Rouge since June. First the shut-down and then temporary lay-off. He has always had a bad back, but, lately it has gotten much worse. Today, was his first day back to work. He called me this morning to tell me that he was taking a buy-out, and that September 1st, (his 62th birthday) would be his last day.
I've been telling everyone that this month and a half that he has been home is like the honeymoon period to retirement. We made it thru the honeymoon; now if we can just make it the rest of the way!
PRAY FOR ME LADIES!!!!! LOL

We had been invited to attend an "Old Fashion Picnic" yesterday, so, I packed my bug spray, my sun screen, lawn chairs, umbrellas (it looked like rain), ponchos (just in case) the whole nine yards. But, man o man, were we in for a surprize. Linens, China, Stemmed Glassware, Beautiful Centerpieces, anything BUT a picnic. It was at Waldonwoods (a campground here in Michigan), It was just wonderful.

Red Hat Kisses & Purple Hugs to All My Red Hat Sisters! My goodness I hope all of you are all right! Last week-end we here in Southeastern Michigan had one heck of a storm. My hubby and I were in Berkley during the storm and sat right thru it! But my brother, who lives in Waterford was telling me about all of the trees that have been blown down. Lots and Lots of people are still without power. Even the front part of my neighbor is without power. {Every time that happens here; the first thing we all have to do is poo!!} But without power our pumps can't get water out of the well so.............Some of the area swimming pools are gettin' mighty low! LOL Anyhow, we are very lucky, and still have power and the internet!!! So long for now! Red hat Kisses & Purple Hugs! Charlene

Wow, what a week I've had! Everyday this last week I've had to take our Chocolate Cocker Spaniel "Snickers" into the Vet's to have her ears cleaned. And what with trying to re-make some clothes to wear to the "Shop 'til You Drop", to fit, I was real busy. My Vice-Queen Beverly and I got to the hotel at about 2pm on Friday. Checked in, drug-in all of our "stuff", then registrationed with the Queen's Coucil. Bev had a "Pamper Appointment" at 3pm, so she had to hurry. (Was the girl's very first facial and parrifin dip!!!) When she got back to the room, she was full of things to say. I never laughed so hard as when she was telling about the parrifin. She thought it felt like the girl was peeing on her hands!!!
I had two "newbies" meet us there on Sunday to shop! It was their very first confrontation with real Red Hatters, and I didn't want them to get too scared, so Bev and I stayed to shop with them. Their biggest comment was, "Wow, the prices are so great!". BUT, we were really "bummed" out that the Michigan Vendors couldn't stay for Sunday! Oh well, next time for sure! Maybe by the end of this week I'll feel like I've gotten my senses back! But then what would I do!!!
