About This Group
-
There seems to be a need to have "How-to's" and "What-to-do's" about the QMB2, all in one place. I've posted them all over everywhere, but decided today to put them in one place: here in this group.
IF you've found any short cuts, etc, please join, and post them in the Forum.
Let's help our QMB2 sisters!!
Alternately, if you have any questions you'd like answered, please join, and post a question. Someone will post an answer for you. We can solve all your problems at this site.... LOL

Step-by-Step use of the QMB2 Features
Thought some of you might like some "step-by-step"
help in using the features found at the QMB2 site.
Of course, you may have already found out this "stuff"
on your own, but for those of you who haven't,
please.. learn from my mistakes and experience! (lol)
For the complete "article", please click here
http://www.qmb2.com/tutorials/forum/viewtopic.one?id=303311
This takes you to the thread
Step-by-Step use of the QMB2 features.
in the forum.
~~*~~~*~~
There are LOTS of ways to enjoy yourself here!!
First of all, here is a place on the QMB2 "home page"
that you should definitely check out.
http://www.qmb2.com
Scroll down past where you've just logged in.
You will see a place called "Network Vitals"
a.. (2,104) members
b.. (166) groups
c.. (4,399) blog posts
d.. (17,711) comments
e.. (13,625) photos
f.. (55) videos
These numbers in brackets are live links that,
when you click on them, will take you to a
page where you can read what is going
on currently at this site.
(2,104) members takes you to: http://qmb2.com/browse.one
The QMB2 members are not given in any particular order.
(Clicking on their photos (avatars) takes you directly to their home page.)
On this page, you will see:
Find People (friend finder)
This is the place to do a search when you want to find someone here
on the Q2 site. i.e. if I want to find everyone whose name is "Peggy",
I would write "Peggy" in the space provided, and it would take me
to a page with all of the "Peggy's" shown. Quite a feature!
Clicking on (4,399) blog posts takes you to
http://qmb2.com/blog_browse.one
This is the page that shows the most recent blog posts that ladies have
made at their home sites, and Group sites. You can learn SO MUCH
about your RHS sisters by reading their blogs! If you click on the name
of the blog i.e. So Much Fun in Hamilton!! that will take you to the page
where that blog has been posted. If you click on the name shown after
the blog, that will take you to that person's home page.
Just a little tip here.. if you want to find the "newest" group, read the
blog posts for each day! Most ladies when they start up a new group,
will make a first "blog" post, and that will show up on this page!
The "blog posts" go back for pages and pages. Currently, the
last page is http://qmb2.com/blog_browse.one?&num=24&pg=120
and takes you right back to the "start".
October 17th was the date of the first blog post made here at this site!
A "short cut" to get back to the QMB2 home page,
from wherever you are over here.
From the url at the top of the page, delete all of the "extra stuff".
i.e. http://qmb2.com/blog_browse.one?&num=24&pg=120
remove /blog_browse.one?&num=24&pg=120
That leaves you with http://qmb2.com
Hit the "enter" key on your keyboard, and you'll be back at the QMB2 home page.
Going back to the "Network Vitals" again
The "comments" link... is not a live link.
The numbers are just there for your information.
Some of us like knowing these things (lol)
Let's click on (13,644) photos next
This takes you to page
http://qmb2.com/photo_browse.one
where you will see a choice of how to view the photos posted here at the Q2
Choose how you want to view the photos.
Clicking on a photo takes you to that actual photo and the page it's on,
where you may read what is written about it, and add your own comment
if you'd like to. You can then easily see what other photos have been
added to that page.
Clicking on (55) videos - takes you to http://qmb2.com/videos.one
You have the same choices as with the photos.
To see ALL of the videos ever posted at the Q2 site, click on "All Time",
which takes you to this page:
http://qmb2.com/videos.one?view=mv&tm=all
When you've finished checking all of the blogs, photos and videos you
want to, go back to the QMB2 home page (using the shortcut tip)
or click here http://qmb2.com/
NOW, let's check out the Groups!!
Let's click on (166) groups
This takes you to this page
http://qmb2.com/groups.one
All of the "non-private" groups are listed here.
You have a choice on how to view these groups.
The version shown is:
Catagory: All Sort By: Biggest First
I personally use the choice of "A to Z", and you can be sure of seeing
ALL of the groups if you choose to view them this way.
The choices to view these groups are:
A to Z
Z to A
Biggest First
Smallest First
You'll see at the top of the page:
Showing 1 to 12 of 146 Matching Results.
The difference in the numbers? The totally PRIVATE groups are
NOT listed here!!
That's where checking into other places to find those
groups comes in handy. If you go back to the home page for the
QMB2 site, you will see a rotating group of three groups at a time,
under a heading of "Network Groups".
These are all of the groups that are currently in use at the QMB2.
The private ones are included. Although, if you click on the url given,
you can't reach them, what you get is:
http://qmb2.com/go/shield/privacy
So I guess the only way for you to be able to join those groups is
IF the owner decides to send out invites to ladies to join their group.
Okay, back to the listing; A to Z
If you click on the photo of the group, or the name of the group, or the
"view" link, this will take you to the home page of the Group.
Clicking on the owner's name will take you to their home page.
Once you're on a group's home page (most home pages look the same),
you will see across the top (under the ads)
Home * Blog * Photo Gallery * Video Gallery * Calendar * Group Members * Forum
(I've put in *'s instead of the little icons between the links.)
You don't need to click on "Home" as that's where you are.
You should see a brief (lol) description of what the group is about,
under "About This Group".
The next line down is
"Recent Forum Posts"
This shows you the most recent posts in the Forum. In a lot of groups,
you must BE a member of the group to read the forum. And, some others
have their forums open to be read by all. You will find out if you click
on one of these links, and are told you need to be a member.
The most recent post in the forum is the one shown at the top of this
section. Clicking on the post name will take you to that post. Clicking
on the poster's name will take you to their blog site.
Let's not click those links now, let's continue with "exploring" the home
page of the group you've chosen.
Moving down the page you'll see:
"Latest Blog Posts"
This is the communication from the Group owner, or moderator(s).
In some of the groups, the owner has only ever made an opening blog post,
and in some, there are blog posts made regularly.
One good way to keep your group in the "active" mode is to make blog
posts. These show up in the daily listing shown at the home page, and
on the link of http://qmb2.com/blog_browse.one
At the end of each blog, there is a place to "Leave a Comment".
Sometimes, there are comments there to read, and sometimes, not.
The most recent TWO blogs show on the Group's Home Page.
"Group Members" shows next. These are 10 random members.
Clicking on the "Group" link at the top of the page will take you to the
complete list.
Moving down.... you'll see "Photos". This is the section where group
participants, owners and moderators have posted photos for onlookers and
group members to see. Not all groups use this option, but a lot do.
Now, let's scroll back up to the top of the page.
Over to the right of the page, you will see, under:
Profile
The name of the Group
The group's siggie
The date the Group started
A link that says: Join This Group
A link to: Contact Owner.
Moderator:
Group Owner:
Moderator:
The owner of the Group's photo (avatar) is there, with her name under it.
Clicking on the avatar will take you to her home page.
Some groups have "monitors" to help them with the group.
The "duties" of a moderator differ with each group.
Going back to the top of the page, click on any of the links you are
interested in seeing. Some join the group first, and then go "exploring".
Others explore what's been posted in the Group before joining.
The choice is entirely up to you whichever way you want to do things.
When you're ready to join the Group, click on "Join this Group".
Most groups are set up as "automatic" membership.
You join, and you're in! Some groups are set up to "apply to join".
This is usually for the convenience of the group owner, so she'll
know when there are new members to welcome.
Being a member allows you to post in the Group's Forum, and
to receive "Broadcasts" from the owner, if she uses this option.

There are many more helpful "tips 'n tricks" posted in the Forum.
