    The Circle of Life

    Monday, April 21, 2008, 1:42 PM [General]

Mother died on Saturday, March 29, 2008 just 10 days shy of her 74 th birthday.  She had fought cancer for almost 6 years and the last two years were the worst.  We--her family--knew we were losing her to another world, but, when the moment came, it hurt to lose her.

In a breath I became the matriach of the family--the oldest female.

but, even in the worst of life's moments, a light can shine.  Our son and daughter-in-law have since told us they are expecting their first child--our first grandchild!

The due date is December 1.  The expectant mother is doing well--she is tired, but not sick and the baby's heartbeat is strong.

So, I lost a very important part of my life at my Mother's death, but, as life goes on and if the Lord wills--my next part of life will include the role of grandmother.

As you can tell, this is my first entry on this new board.  So, be patient because I will make lots of mistakes and miss a lot of the talk.  You know I am directionally challenged!

Oooh that is a cute story. I always wonder how or what inspired Red Hatter nicknames. My sister has three daschunds...they are sooo sweet. Well, nice to meet ya Tupper, and yes, I have seen your posts on the QMB1.
