On The Road

We have a 34foot motor home....Triple E.  Am looking forward to getting on the road this summer.  The price of gas is really worrying me though.  We live in Alabama and go to NY state to visit relatives.  That is always a "must"....not sure what other trips we will be able to make this year.  We started out with a 37 foot used motor home....had some adventures....then we traded that one for a new 34 footer with a slide out.  Some places we have visted besides NY state are:  Mount Rushmore, SD,  Grand Canyon, Mackanaw Island, Michigan,  Wisconsin, Savannah, Ga....all along the Gulf area from the panhandle of Florida to Mobile....Biloxi, MS...Helen, Ga...Louisiana, Colorado Springs and Denver, CO.....Pasadena, Calif.....Charleston, SC....not to mention places in-between.  Been RVing for about 8 years.  Love it, but only go out for a few weeks at a time...the longest being about a month. Also do the Football season....various places.I keep a lot of supplies on the RV...but the hardest part is the loading and unloading...I take way too much food usually (forgetting we can pick up stuff while we are on the road.)  I just think I have to stock the RV with tons of food.  We tow a car also.  Love the convenience of just pulling off the road and stopping for lunch, etc.  We are members of Good Sams Travel Club.....Once our transmission went caput and we had to have the rig towed to a place and drove all the way home and then back the next week to get it.  (This was in Louisiana).  That's when we traded it in for a newer model.  Had one blowout also....and a few flat tires with the tow dolly...we since have sold that and now use a tow bar. Ok.....so let me hear where you all have traveled off to.....Sure would love one of those big diesel buses....woo hoo....can't afford one that costs more than my house....plus diesel gas is a lot higher now than regular also.Let's hear some of your adventures and recommended places to visit.

Re: On The Road

Anyone out there? We camp in a tent.  Last year we went to Acadia Park in ME, Florida, and Hershey, PA.  So far this year I've been to Florida twice and Lancaster, PA once.  Next week I'm going to Hershey again.  It's not that far.  I'd like to see Penn's Cave while I'm there.  You take a boat ride through it.
