Yesterday I had lunch with two other Queen Mums...We had a lovely visit and chatting about our chapter activities and future plans for Fun...One asked me if I had been on the QMB recently...I said I hadn't....

I can't believe that I have not been...and not here...I feel badly as I see that some dear Ladies have written and sent messages to me...

What must you think of me...

I am so sorry and promise I shall be more considerate..look what I have been missing...

My personality is such that when in a crisis...I tend to keep to myself ......I let the storm blow through me...as a result.... take the chance of either becoming uprooted or ......able to stand firm and survive the winds...

Life is calm once again. All is well.

Well he came!!!!!! We love him!!!!! Says he loves Canada!!!!!!! He bought maple leaf cookies for the girls!!!!!!!

Think there may have been a 'beavertail cookie or two as well .....in the gift given to him by a very excited lady!!!!!!!! Yum..Beavertail cookies are delicious!!!!! Kind of like a flat,glazed doughnut....no hole.....with lots of the sugar icing....He is coming back to visit us when it is warmer!!!!!

Happy Valentines to all You Red Hat Divas!!!! Thinking of you! Hope you have lots of chocolate and are having a wonderful day. It is sunny but cold here. We still have lots of snow even after a thaw..that melted several feet of the snowbanks!!!!Of course we  have a couple more months for the snow to still come down!!!! Next week our local park will be having its February Winter Carnival. Hubby and I go but mostly now for the marvelous eats!!! We bundle up and do watch some of the hockey games..outdoor rinks of course!!!...We enjoy seeing the little ones on the pony rides and playing winter games. Our daughter has long since grown up and moved several hundred miles away. Her and her hubby will be vacationing to some wonderful warm place soon..St Martins I believe...and we will catsit Miss Kitty while they have fun in the sun. Our own travel plans are for much later this spring...It will be a quiet evening for us tonight... A cozy fire..we do still have indoor wood fireplaces up here!!!!. A sauna ...movie and ordering in...I will take a raincheck on dinning out for next week...I did get chocolate...an IOU in my card to do some shopping and a Tom Jones Cd...I have been dancing around here doing my Tom Jonesing all afternoon!!!! Do have a good afternoon and enjoy your evening whether it is with your sweetie...family..friends..or even a lovely quiet evening with just you!!!! Wishing you health, happiness, serenity and lots of chocolate...Keep warm!!!!

OMG! I can't believe that I haven't been here since June!!!!! Needless to say so much has happened in all our lives!

We are still here.

Been back from our trip to California....travelled 7000 miles to shop in the RHS Store & to visit Hatquarters...and of course to see Cher in Vegas....

While we travelled through all those wonderful places we followed the events of the economy & election on CNN...Hey we saw the CNN blding in California...!

We hot tubbed our way across the USA and back!!!!

We were back for our own election....and were just in time to thaw the Thanksgiving(Canadian eh!) turkey and pop it in the oven before Chrissy, Raul and Miss Kitty were at the door! Did the raking of the leaves and had a fantastic visit from Dear QMS Betty Ann, Margy and Jan!!!!The Southern Ontario Gals!!!

So I am now sorting photos from the trip and thought you might like to see the ones I took at the RHS Store & Hatquarters...

Although I did not see my name in the Hatquarters Visitors Guest List(did you???)I was there!!!.It was a dream of mine..Am so glad we did stop there...DH has some difficulty with my wee red camera..but sending the blurry ones along anyway..as they are all precious...

Kind of have a sad feeling about the whole financial stuff..that is going on...and sorry that the Store didn't work out...but Hey We Shall Survive!!!

        Well...Greetings Divas!

 What a great weekend in Hamilton!  Kay Star said it all!  We did have a couple of adventures..as well as the fab convention!!!  I wonder if that  giggle-y Russian lady ..will indeed start her own RHS chapter????? Not to mention the lovely Asian  who wanted her mother-in-law to join us?????  What about that 'petticoat guy' Jennifer????                            Can you believe I did indeed touch those kimonos ..to check out how they were hung? What was I thinking??? Wasn't!!!! And that security guard...young enough to be my grandson! He did come over afterwards and tell us that little story  re the film request...

Kay those Coder fellows were Navaho soldiers...I saw a movie ...told the whole story of how they were selected re Morse code in Navaho...baffled the enemy...Also saw a documentary...They were behind enemy lines...                                                                                                                                                          How wonderful for you to have met a daughter....of such a hero...

Now back home and trying to download my pics...from a foreign memory card..that I had to purchase because of...well that's a long story...Anyway...it is foreign to me and my computer...I finally figured it out...Now to select & will share photos...!!!

Greetings & Salutations Divas!!! 

Well this is the May longweekend known as Victoria Day...The weekend is celebrated closest to May 24th which was Queen Victoria's birthday.!!! She granted a holiday as school children chanted to Her " if you don't give us a holiday we will all run away!" She did and they didn't!  Canadians got it too as back during her reign we were a Dominion!  ...DH says everyday is a holiday for us retired folks...

Anyway....This is the weekend that northerners open up their camps(cottages to most others)...go to nurseries about town and select their garden plants ...and those oh so loved annuals...For us in our area...we just hope that we will not have a late frost....

Most have either company for the weekend or are travelling....This year our family all have things they must do around their own homes...So it is just us two!  Kind of nice...quiet...great weather to nap, read a book, watch Jane Austen movies...review E Tolle & Ophra..whatever...

Have a small roast in the oven..starting to smell good. And what do you think..peach pie..? Wish you were stopping by...we'll be eating that pie for afew days...come next time for sure...

Sudbury is in northern Ontario Canada..We don't really think we are so northern...as there are quite a few fairly large cities even further north than us.. We are a mining city of about 150,000 people. They smelt the ore that is mined ...here ....as well.

We are in another big mining boon(has been slack for awhile)We are seeing a wonderful influx of younger people and their young families. The mining company wants to hire 1600 new miners so sure hope that improves our shopping!!! Lots of eateries but kind of lacking in high-end  stores...No Saks...or such here.. we must travel to Toronto for such stores.

We have a fine well established university and a new medical school. Good for the community to keep our young doctors here..

Am including a pic of our slag dumping...it is wonderful to see.. The sky all ights up.  I still am amazed each time I see that molten slag flow down the slag dump(hill).As children we thought the slag emptying from the pots formed the shape of a man or scary being!!!Needless to say we hurried home come dark...

Wishing you a wonderful Mother's Day! A day to do whatever you want...and something just for you...big...small or medium....A moment or two....for self can be so precious!!!

This morning I am wandering around the house..with coffee cup in hand....It is quiet..save for the wee birds calling to their sweethearts...and a Canadian goose..flying low...across the sky..over to near-by Robinson Lake...to the rest of the flock! Guess he is a bachelor-fellow and only to find his mate..next spring!

Just DH and I today.....All is well though....everyone is safe.....and we ..are just two...like when we started out...

Took an early stroll around the yard.. Cool & crisp .....the Faery rings have not burnt off..nor have the Charlottes webs....

Now lets see what shall I do today....read my book...watch a Jane Austen movie....play in the garden....download my camera....chat with daughter(out of town and not able to come home).....re-arrange the Red Hat closet...finish listening to E Tolle's last lesson....do some journaling....get into Mother's box of old pictures and do some sorting....do a couple of Tarot-Self-Reads..ahhhh a perfect day....Oh yes...restaurants too busy and noisy so DH will order in Chinese.........Absolutely lovely.
