    It is Hot In Texas!

    Saturday, July 11, 2009, 1:46 PM [General]

Hope everyone's summer is going well and you are enjoying time with your family and friends.

The weather in Texas is hot and hotter!  We average 100 - 106 during the month of July.  August will be hotter.

If you were born and raised here, you are used to it, but it makes it hard to wear our beautiful hats during this time.

I love to dress up and wear big hats with lots of Bling.  This heat can make you want to take some of it off!

If you have cooler weather, send some to Texas, we could use it.

    Happy Red & Pink Hatting,

    Lynda, Queen of Glitz

    Red Hat National Convention

    Thursday, May 14, 2009, 7:34 AM [General]

Hello to all, sorry this is so late in coming.  But I had a wonderful time at the RHS National Convention in Dallas, TX.

I met so many wonderful new friends and got to see Sue Ellen and Linda Murphy at one of the meetings.  Of course I took too many pictures, but will attach some of them.

There were ladies from all over the US, plus England, Canada, Hawaii, Tonga, and other countries.  It was amazing!

My co-queen and I volunteered for everything so that we could meet more people.  I highly recommend at least one National Conference to everyone.  You meet so many great Red and Pink Hatters!

    Happy Red & Pink Hatting,

Lynda, Queen of the Glitzy Dazzle Dames

Hi Lynda ~~ I'll have to send you some nice cool upstate New York air to refresh you! Our summer here has been cooler than normal, but very pleasant. I've enjoyed relaxing in our backyard every day. We only turned the AC on once this season, and that was to make sure it was in working order. We haven't even needed to turn the fans on! On Saturday my chapter is going to a Rennaissance Fair so that will be fun. Take care & stay cool ~~

Hi Lynda, I was confused........ I mentioned 'your' website; it was another gal from TX. If you have one, let me know. I love getting ideas from other Queens. If you are ever in San Angelo, please call me (949-3232). We'll do lunch or dinner, etc.

Hi Lynda, Yes, I attended the DIVAS convention; also my first. I loved it! Would love to do San Diego next year, but my husband is in baseball, and we have three Bichon Frise. My husband may be out of town, and I would never leave them in a kennel. You were a busy person at the convention. The only thing that bothered me: the extreme walking distances back and forth, because I have a total knee replacement; it was hard on me. That's why I would love to go to San Diego, because it's in a hotel, which I prefer. Hopefully, they (RHS) will do more hotels in the future, rather than resorts. They are just too hard on folks with physical limitations, as well as the really older ladies. I was fine until I tore my knee; then the problems continued until I was 'bone on bone', forcing me to get a 'bionic knee' (LOL). Anyway, I just love your hat in the photo as well. And you are are 'elegant'.... the name of my chapter: The Elegant Red Hatters of San Angelo. I just started the chapter and hope it's successful. I got some good ideas from your website; thanks. Have a good Red Hat week. Later, Glitzy Gay

Our group in southern Indiana has been inactive, but we did have some good times. My husband and I spend our winters in Florida and I joined a great chapter there that is very active. Keep in touch!
