And did you see The Blue Men when they came to Huntsville recently? I wanted to check that out, but my husband is not into the same stuff I am. (14 years older than me and very much a homebody.) Anyway, I enjoyed your photos of Vegas. Catch you in Huntsville on April 25th!!! Sweet Thang |

It's definitely addicting, Sandra! I have my fancy hat on the buffet in my dining room. It's next to all my teapots and cups/saucers. part of the scene, until it's time for me to get dressed up. I never did it before this one, so just let your imagination run wild! Lord knows, we hatters don't worry about whether we did it "right" or not! Rita, Queen Foxy Loxy Queen Foxy Loxy |

Hi ! The hat is made out of foam board, it is not heavy at all, but awkward. Originally, I made it as a joke in 2001 for a big hat contest in Branson MO. Believe it or not it did not win as largest, however it was so popular that it took me 45 minutes to get to my seat as 1700 people including newspaper and TV stations took my picture.I was the centerfold on the Columbia, MO newspaper! LOL! Since then, the hat has made several appearances decorated differently as the occasion fits. This picture was taken in Columbia, MO at a Red Hat fund raiser for breast cancer this last fall. Originally the hat was larger, but it would not fit into the trunk of our car, so I had to cut it down 2 inches all around and it barely fits! It took 2 full length red boas to go around the outside edge and I had a small piece left over, which I have used to decorate other hats and visors. Do I have you as a friend? If not,I would like to be your friend. I seldom go to the 2, but am slowly trying to learn it! Please add me to your friend list. Donna |
