About Me
I am always smiling! Even when I was grading papers in school, the students always said that I was smiling. I started out as a cosmetologist, worked my way through college, and taught special education. I had to retire because of health reasons, but I do miss the kids.
Interests
I love to rubber stamp on anything. I crochet, knit, do beading, and I love to make split oat baskets. But, most of all, I love to travel. I have been all over Europe. I have all of my family in Germany, and I try to travel there every other year, but with the EURO, I cannot make the trip that often anymore. I have also been to Brazil, Fiji Islands, Australia, New Zealand, China, Canada, and Mexico. I have traveled throughout the US, but I love traveling ouverseas best.
Hobbies
I love to crochet, knit, do rubber stamping, weave split oak baskets with Betty Curry. I like to read, write poetry, cook, watch TV, watch high school wrestling and basketball. I am big into watching high school sports as I kept score while I taught school. I would not keep the wrestling score of any match that my son was in.
Music
I am tone death!!! But, as far as listening, I love Barry Manilow, Johnny Mathis, Elvis Presley, Roger Whittaker, and Lee Greenwood.
Movies
I only like to watch movies on TV. I guess you could call me CHEAP! I like Sayonara, Memories of a Geisha, The Magnificent Seven, all of the Hepburn/Tracy movies.
TV
I like NCIS, all of the Law and Order shows, ER, baseball, formula one, European Soccer, horse racing, as far as that goes, anything that has to do with horses or dogs. I also like to watch the Today show, the cooking shows, I love Paula Dean. I am not into the Reality Shows except Survivor. This is tops in my book.
Books
I like to read bios. I also like to read about foreign places. I like a good mystery. I have read all of the Rex Stout Books.
Likes
I like to wear jeans. I like dogs and horses. I like cheeseburgers, and all German food. Did I mention that I like cheeseburgers? I also like fresh baked bread. Do you notice a pattern here? I also happen The Red Hat Society. I cannot wait for Convention time. Did I say that I like cheeseburgers?
Dislikes
Not too fond of Oriental food. Do not like to get dressed up. And, I hate diets. And, can you believe I hate hats? I hate people who are insincere, manipulate the conversation, are me, myself, and I. I think I might be quilty of that one at some point. And, do not lie to me. I have a good memory where a lie is concerned, and a memory that will remember.
Vices
I talk before I think. I have a sarcastic tone, and I really do not mean to have one. It just happens. My mother always told me to smile and laugh when I say something and it will not be as harsh. I try, but I do not always remember.
Virtues
I am very generous, almost to a fault. I would give you the shirt off my back, even if you really did not need it.
Family
They are the best, and they have gone through a lot with me. I have a husband, Jim, who I married Jan. 23, 1965. I have a daughter, Wende, who is a paramedic. She is not married. She was born on October 18, 1967. She was born on my father's birthday. I have a son, Jason, who was a history teacher and wrestling coach. But now, he is a stage hand and assistanat carpenter for the Rockettes, and many of the shows in New York City. He is also not married. He was born on Feb. 21, 1975.

Pet(s)
I have a German Shepherd/Akita mix named Charlie. I also have a registered Maltese, who never leaves my side, named Molly. Molly will even sleep on top of me a lot. When I get up in the morning at 5:00 A.M., she is right there with me. She lays next to me in the recliner.
