Here we are in another month, already! The temps have dropped and I have all the windows and doors opened and I'm enjoying the fresh breeze blowing through the house! Okay, it's really a bit more than a breeze, as I am catching the papers flying off my desk!
I'm looking forward to going to "Menopause The Musical" in November. We're going to have so much fun!
I would like to invite you all to visit the live chat room on my chapter's web site. It's a great way to chat in real time! I have't been there much with so many things going on here on the homefront and my late work hours, but I'm making it a point to pop in there more often. When the time changes, so will our store hours, which means I will be getting home an hour earlier each day!
The last few days have been a real challenge for me...
Last year, I had a tooth shatter. It would only hurt occasionally, so I pretty much got use to it and ignored it. Well, this last week, it began to hurt more. It reached the point of hurting all the time. DH made a dentist appointment for me to have it removed. So, yesterday, we went to the dentist for the extraction. He took an X-ray and examined the tooth and said he couldn't do it. The tooth was in such bad shape that he referred me to an oral surgeon. His assistant called and got me an appointment for later in the afternoon.
They were originally going to just numb me to take out the tooth, but after the doc examined the films and the tooth, opted to put me under. Good thing DH had driven me there! The doctor asked how I had been living with pain. I have such a high pain tolerance, I didn't realize how bad it really was.
After we got home, the meds started wearing off and the pain became extremely intense. I would rated it about the level of my hysterectomy. I was actually crying, it was so bad...and I never cry! I felt so whimpish, but it really did hurt. About 8 p.m., I took a darvocet and went to bed. Came home from work early today. It is much better, but I took another darvocet to try and stay ahead of it.
One thing I forgot to check out when we flip flopped the rooms was the phone line. Evidently, the jack in this room had a short or something and I couldn't stay on line for very long at a time. It has been quite frustrating! DH replaced the whole thng and now it seems to be working fine...(knock on wood!)
The kitten DH found seems to be much younger than we first thought. She is such a cutie. The other cats have accepted her and try to get her to play with them.
I finally finished my computer room and it looks great, if I do say so myself! What started out as just rearranging the front room, turned into a whole house makeover!

"When you turn 50 You will see That as a Red Hatter The best is yet to be!"
Our Red Hat auction on the 14th was so much fun! We even had a bracelet start at $2 and go all the way up to $15! It was win , win all the way around...everyone found something for their hatting wardrobe, I got rid of things I never wear and we made some money for the chapter to play with!
We are going to apply the money to tickets for "Menopause The Musical" in November.
I finally finished up here in my new office. Condensed four filing cabinets to two. Got my pictures up on the wall. I love it in here!
The rest of the house looks great, too!
It's was a nice idea to set up a dining table again. DH and I had been eating in front of the TV for years. We've actually been eating at the table with no TV. Amazing how much more relaxing it is and we actually carry on real conversations!
Last Sunday, when DH was coming home from the video store, he decided to take the back way ... as he went around the corner, a tiny siamese kitten ran out from some bushes at a parking lot and straight towards the car! She was screaming at him...he scooped her up and brought her home. She can't be but about five weeks old.
The weather here has finally cooled off and I've had the doors and windows open all week. It sure is nice to have fresh air and no AC units running! Shold make a difference on our electric bill, too!
