The Red Hat Society will be participating in the California Governor & First Lady’s Women’s Conference to be held Oct. 26-27 at the Long Beach Convention Center. This popular women’s event is already sold out but any Red Hatters that have registered are encouraged to stop by the Red Hat Society Booth, #2110.

First Lady Maria Shriver will be presenting the Minerva Awards which recognizes remarkable women, remarkable legacies to: Caroline Kennedy, vice chair, New York City Fund for Public Schools; Alicia Keys, singer/songwriter, actress, philanthropist; and Laysha Ward, president of community relations, Target Foundation.

Speakers include: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Madeline K. Albright, Valerie Bertinelli, Sir Richard Branson, Katie Couric, Geena Davis, Paula Deen, Ashton Kutcher, Annie Leibovitz, Lisa Ling, Mario Lopez, Dr. O, Elizabeth Smart and Paula Zahn. This event is a sell-out every year and Hatters are encouraged to register early for next year. RHS Exhibiting At AARP’s “Vegas @50+” Convention

The Red Hat Society will be participating in AARP’s annual convention to be held in Las Vegas Oct. 22-24. This year’s event is entitled “VEGAS @ 50+” and will be held at the Sands Expo & Convention Center, 201 Sands Ave, on the strip. The expo will be held in Exhibit Halls B&C and the Red Hat Society booth is #960, located next to Cirque du Soleil.

Admission to the event is $25 for AARP members/$35 for friends/family general admission. Show hours are Thurs., Oct. 22: 10am-5:30pm;  Fri., Oct 23:  9am-5pm; Sat., Oct. 24: 10:30am-5pm.
