Thought I might do some house cleaning over here, haven't been here since last summer; have to admit it just did not have that homey feeling I have over on #1.  I do realize this is more computer friendly for some of you and you are entitled.  Summer was mostly uneventful after the floooding.  We had a beautiful fall and it has pretty much continued into November.  But alas all good things come to some sort of end and there is a forecast of cold and snow flurries.  I just hate wearing heavy coats, warming up the car and all those type things that come with winter weather.

Anyway, wanted to stop through here and say hello to you all that have decided to call this area home.  Stop in over there occasionally and say howdy!  Also enclosing a picture of our new toy!

This past 6 weeks, have seen the old Mississippi flood twice!  These two floods happened in our town as we have a creek that connects with the river.  So when the river floods, the creek floods and the rest is history.  They say the one a few years ago was a hundred year flood, and by all accounts it was worse than the last three we have had.  I have come to the conclusion that she will do whatever she darn well wants to!

They say the Mississippi is the Father of Waters, sorry; I feel she is feminine in her ways! Yes, definetly feminine.  She can not be controlled.  They have tried that with gates, dams, walls, and levees.  She just can not be stopped.  The more they attempt to stop her, the more she breaks out elsewhere.  She's a ravishing broad and they really need to just stop and let her go.  She was never meant to be tamed.  She is heartless and cruel, cold and calculating; but I love her and her ways.  She is boss, damned be those that try and wrestle her to submission; she will never allow it.  She is the mighty Mississippi and she always wins.

But then everyone that lives by her loves her, until she reeks havoc on their souls.  They curse her, loath her, and blame for for their ills.  Yet at night, when she settles down and becomes looking glass still, and the moon shines across her; her beauty is unmatchable.  Ah yes, she is feminine.
