Here it is St Patricks Day already. I thought winter was going to last forever! Saturday I am going to a pajama breakfast. I can hardly wait. It took me awhile this week to find my red   hat pj's and slippers since I am unpacking boxes. We moved into our apartment and are still getting settled.

I am going to be painting my dining room red today and tomorrow. I got some cool fabric with red hats on it to make curtains. The next step is back down to the basement to find my red hat tea things and collectables to decorate with. I want to get finished as soon as possible and be ready for April 25th. I am inviting my red hat friends over for the day. I am really looking forward to it.

    New Year New Life

Wednesday, January 14, 2009, 10:41 PM EST [General]

I have not been able to do much red hatting in the past year. It wasn't that I didn't want to bit that life events sometimes have a way of intefering with what you really would rather be doing. Last year was a very hard year for us. We lost our home and had to move to a two room cottage and put most of our belongings into storage. We did get to move into a four room cottage just before Christmas so we were able to have family come for Christmas. I put up red hat tree.

Our niece gave me a copy of The Red Hat cookbook for Christmas a couple of weeks early. I cooked a crown pork roast with a cranberry-pear sauce. It was delicious. I love this cookbook. Last Friday I had two red hat friends over for lunch and we had Cosmotinis after lunch. (Recipe from same book). I am having two more red hat friends over for lunch this Friday so I am busily going through the book for more delicious treats. Life is steadily improving!

I did get to go to Boston via Amtrak in November. We went for a carriage ride, shopped and then had supper at Cheers. I really enjoyed that.

Life has many ups and downs. I feel very blessed to have such wonderful red hat friends. They have helped me get through the past year. I couldn't have done it without them.

    Hi, Jan!

Glad to see you on this board. Hope this year is kinder to you than last. I'm sure I must have seen you at last year's Fall Fun Frolic Fling. Perhaps we'll see (and recognize!) each other at another of the Maine RH events...I'm going to the Waterville Spring Fling in April. Hope to see you there! Prayers and warm wishes your way. Jan,

I hope your heart continues to heal from the loss of your Dad, mine passed on 2 years ago this month, and I can finally think of him and smile, and just remember the wonderful bond we had, I hope the same for you.

    God Bless,
