About Me
I'm a Leo, 5'9" and weigh about 148 on a good day. I've been married for 28yrs and raised up 2 sons. I'm pretty good natured and easy going, love to party, esp at Red Hat events! In the winter I put on my pj's as soon as it gets dark. I worked at the phone company for 15yrs, then parttime as a screen printer for the next 15yrs, now I am a substitute teachers aide with the special needs population, my youngest son is Down Syndrome.

Sewing and some crafty stuff. Not into quilting tho, haven't the patience for that time consuming a project.

SHOES, Shoes, and more shoes! I will spend my last dime on a cool pair of high-heeled shoes! Bed linens that have been hung on the line to dry, sleepin'/nappin'. I enjoy walking and exercise also.

This is the week my DH has been preparing and waiting since last September for. The week leading up to the Woodward Dream Cruise. He's gone cruisin' Tues, Wed and this evening he has gone "Back To The Bricks" in Flint.
DH bought a 1959 Ford Galaxy 500 from Minnesota. He reworked the engine and tore out the interior. This winter he will put the interior back in, but for now the door panels and roof are just metal. No matter, it is the cruise!
Friday night I am going to cruise with him, I will post some pictures later.
The official cruise day is Saturday, but most of the fun occurs the week before.

Here she is gurls, a picture of a 1966 Pontiac Bonneville, isn't she beautiful?
Theresa sent me this photos and I have the picture as wallpaper on my computer. So far that is as close to getting as I can get.
My DH has kinda thrown an ice bucket on my dream telling me that Bonneville's came with a 454 engine and nowadays she would only get 6 miles to the gallon.
I would have to get a second job for gas money....LOL
So what could I do for gas money? If I walk dogs I'll sneeze the whole route cuz I'm allergic. If I waitress I'll spill the coffee on the customers lap and get sued.

Ok, I rented the movie Bonneville, didn't care too much for it.
The 1966 Bonneville however I fell in love with! I wanna do just what the ladies in the movie did. When I turn 60 or 65 and am too old to hold up my Harlette I'm gonna sell her and buy a RED, w/ white interior, convertable, 1966 Bonnie and drive to Red Hat events and gatherings with my Red Hat friends.
We are gonna laugh and hold scarves in the air...the whole deal.
I don't want an old engine in her, I want a new engine...no car trouble for me.
Wouldn't that be awesome!

July 8th is finally here and I'm going to a Beach/ Deck Potluck Party for my monthly Redhat fix! The Oxford chapter that I'm a member of is hosting this party. Egad, I belong to 3 chapters, Mine, the Fun~N~Fancy Dames, The Glitter Galz in Oxford and The totally awesome party gurls..Forever Young, and they mean it too!
At first my plans were on hold as my DH's Tuesday night Classic Car Cruise could have taken priority over my Redhat party tonight....but as luck would have it...it's raining...Bad for him, good for me!
So I have my salad all prepared and have been trying on skirts or shorts???? Going thru the usual routine of trying to match a purple...just like to keep the shades close. I love it! Next is the hat, then the bling...oh it is such a wonderful chore!

Ok Ok, I will delete the snack blog. LOL
What have I been doing? Nothing, not ah, zilch! I'm bored!
Gas prices are cramping my style...no running the roads shopping, eating or visiting my family this summer.
I don't have any red hat plans until, OMG....July 8th, and that is a Tuesday night. Tuesday night is my DH's night for car cruising.
I am looking so forward to tomorrow. In the village there is going to be a Car Cruise, hula hoop contest, big hair contest and BBQ chicken dinner. A 50's band is gonna play. My son and I are going down to the park and spend the afternoon. My DH will be cruising in his 1959 Ford Fairlane 500, along with his car buddy's. Should be a great time.

I'm trying to lose weight, ha!
My sweettooth is fighting me every minute of every day! Is there a dentist out there that does sweettooth removal? I need an appt.
Anyway, I was digging thru the cupboard the other day and saw the box of cereal, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, my son has eaten it for years, he loves it. I've never tried any until the other day. I put a dry square in my mouth and boy was it yummy! It tastes just like the box says, Cinnamon Toast!
Well I have had my share of the sugary snack for the last three days! I'm hooked.
I pour a 1/3 cup, dry cereal, in a little container and munch away with my coffee.
It's a lowfat snack, and fits the bill for me satisfying that ol' tooth of mine that gives me fits.
The rest of my diet plan, well that's another blog story...LOL

Ahhh the sweet sound of the Red Winged Blackbird.
I have waited a long long time this year for Spring and warm weather, there were days when I was blue.
Today the sun is warm with a little chill in the air and as I walked outside I heard one of my favorite sounds...the Red Winged Blackbird.
In my neck of the woods they are the first to sing, soon the robins will be home.
It brings me joy and peace to hear their sound. All is well in my world.

Carson Kressley was on Oprah today talking about his new show on Lifetime...How to Look Good Naked. I had seen it when it first aired and thought it was a neat show.
Today he had two ladies that were struggling with their self esteem, just like many of us, including myself.
He was so fun, helped the women look at themselves with love and accept themselves for what they are. It was great. Well, at the end of the 3 days these two women were beautiful. And they were smiling and laughing and happy it seemed.
Don't we all need a little Carson Kressley in our lives. I know I sure do!

Ok, now is when it gets tough for me. I get sooo bored waiting on these last 40 days of winter to check out and bring on Spring. I start eating, watching soaps, and just laying around looking out the window...waiting.
I'm not much of a book reader, and am not in the mood for crafting or sewing. I just wanna wait. LOL.
Spring is comin'...only 40 days.

 Today is Mardi Gras one of my most favorite party days of the year! I love the costumes, the beads, the food, the colors, the whole nine yards of it. I love it soooo much that I've planned a Mardi Gras party to be held here, at my house starting at 5:30.
I'm not that much of a Naw' Orluns cook but I'm baking ribs, chicken wings, Dirty Rice, salad, roll and butter. We're gonna play some games to win beads, (flashin' is not required, keep those babies harnessed)
I have about 30 ladies coming, it is gonna be cool. I have decorated my hinney off and the basement looks awesome.
I even baked a KING CAKE, and it turned out. Yeast and I don't get along so well, but this time I didn't kill the yeast.
