Personal Quote A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy
enough people to make it worth the effort"

About Me I am a volunteer Adelaide Greeter with the Adelaide City Council. I enjoy meeting up with visitors from other parts and showing them around our fair city.
The portrait in my photo is of the original HRH Queen Adelaide after whom our fair city was named in 1836. Queen Adelaide was the wife/consort of King William IV of England.

The photo of my grandparents Henry & Johanna was taken on their ranch in El Cerito California in 1914.

My father Paul was born in El Cerito seven years later in 1921.I suppose El Cerito has changed a little since then.

He spent his childhood and youth on a ranch near Jackson in the Northern California gold country.

My Dad came to Australia during WWII with General MacArthur's troops and met my Mum here in Adelaide. After the war Mum went to the USA as a war bride then in 1948 they came back here to Adelaide to live. I was born here in Oz however my daughter now lives in Seattle and is married to an American.
As my Dad used to say "What Goes Around Comes Around"

Grammy's trip to Seattle to see baby Siena

Monday, July 19, 2010, 10:41 PM AEST [General]

My goodness how fast the past two months have flown!

Baby Siena arrived on the 20th May (3 days before Grammy).

I am now back in Adelaide, having spent just over a month with my new grand-daughter, her mummy Jenni and Daddy Josh.  I had a wonderful (sometimes exhausting) time being Alice from the Brady Bunch... preparing meals, doing the laundry, holding the baby..and disappearing when I thought they needed space. LOL!

Even made my tv debut on Seattle television:  www.kirotv.com/video/23792199/index.html

Also met up with 15 Red Hatters at Ivars restaurant on the Seattle waterfront. How special it was to meet and hug my QMB,QMB2 and FB Gal Pals in person.

    Beady-
You are now a “Gutsy Gal.”

(The official term for these brave souls who venture completely out of their comfort zone and come without a single one of their chapterettes to make them feel “safe.”)

Come to think of it, I believe this term was first applied to convention goers..........but..........hey........there are NO rules...........and we can call you a Gustsy Gal if'n we want to!!!

    Lisa,
It was sooooo much fun to meet everyone today. This was my first outing outside my chapters on my own. It helps to know someone that I've chatted with and hopes to meet someone in person.

I hope we can keep in touch in the future. Check out the website for the photos taken at today's luncheone. www.thurstoncountyqueenscouncil.com
