    Royal Title HRH Queen Adelaide
Personal Quote A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy
enough people to make it worth the effort"

About Me I am a volunteer Adelaide Greeter with the Adelaide City Council. I enjoy meeting up with visitors from other parts and showing them around our fair city.
The portrait in my photo is of the original HRH Queen Adelaide after whom our fair city was named in 1836. Queen Adelaide was the wife/consort of King William IV of England.

The photo of my grandparents Henry & Johanna was taken on their ranch in El Cerito California in 1914.

My father Paul was born in El Cerito seven years later in 1921.I suppose El Cerito has changed a little since then.

He spent his childhood and youth on a ranch near Jackson in the Northern California gold country.

My Dad came to Australia during WWII with General MacArthur's troops and met my Mum here in Adelaide. After the war Mum went to the USA as a war bride then in 1948 they came back here to Adelaide to live. I was born here in Oz however my daughter now lives in Seattle and is married to an American.
As my Dad used to say "What Goes Around Comes Around"

Adelaide is nestled between the Hills to the East and the sea to the West.  I live about a mile in from the beach and seven miles from the city centre.  We have a Mediterranean climate similar to Northern California.  The city is a smiliar size to Sacramento. You can find out more about my part of world at www.southaustralia.com

Lisa - I'm doing ok, just moving slowly and taking it easy. There is nothing to do for it other than let it heal. My dogs are my biggest problem as taking them outside on a leash sometimes I get jerked around as they don't mind very well....I wonder who is to blame for that?

I'm still planning to go to Vegas on the 14th. Once there, I'm not worried, it's the airport hassle that worries me. However I made arrangements for a wheelchair for inside the terminal to get me to the gate so that should help.

Thanks for asking, Queen Adelaide. It went well. There were 8 of us that met at a restaurant called My Big Fat Greek Restaurant. Everyone was regaled in their red hats and purple clothing. We sort of got off to a slow start as I came down with the H1N1 virus the first week of January but am doing well now.

Thanks so much for the good wishes. We are having our first gathering on January 18th. Hopefully by that time I will know a little bit more about the Red Hat Society.
