    Location: West Virginia

    Chapter Mascot "Snowball" Webkinz
    Royal Title Queen Vicki- Webmistress-of-Many-Sites
Personal Quote From my father: "If you can't say anything nice about someone-don't say anything at all."
About Me I have been married to a most wonderful and supportive husband for the past 40 years. We came back "home" to West Virginia to retire, after living in 17 places-having been IBMers in the states of Indiana, Maryland, Minnesota, and New Jersey.

I am a retired Elementary School Teacher, having taught primarly in the 3rd and 4th grades, with a Master's Degree in Education.
Interests I love to meet new Cyber Friends, (am looking forward to meeting many sisters in the Red Hatter groups) and, I presently am Webmistress of 10+ Websites, with 15 administrators helping me. I am "new" to learning about Beta and PSP, and, I feel like I am back in college with all the books I am reading to learn "How To" manage all the processes and features of the Websites and just to "keep up." I love to teach children and adults.
Hobbies I love to be managing Websites-that is my main hobby at the moment, with over 1,002 Magnolia High School Alumni now connected with four different Websites for my Alma Mater. I started out with 32 E-Mail addresses in the year 2004, and it has grown to over one-thousand now. My biggest thrill of the day is to "connect" another Classmate/Alumni with us all!

I also am the headmistress at a Beta School of Learning Website, as well as a recently set up, HTML My Family 1.0 Website for my administrators and family.

I love to take photographs-it is my real passion and to make collages and slideshows whenever I have the extra time...

I like to visit my elder relatives and cousins and take them shopping. I love to swim and ride on boats up and down the beautiful Ohio River.

Our grandchildren have gotten me interested in the Webkinz "fun," Website-gifting me with Snowball for Christmas.

I collect Gone with the Wind "stuff," State Spoons, have tons of Beanies, Shirley Temple "stuff," and Thomas Kincade.

I like to work on Scrapbooking and Stamping when I have time, but, my sister is the expert at it. She creates beautiful work and spends so much time creating wonderful gifts for others.

I love to work on Genealogy every chance I get, and I recently returned from Switzerland, finding a 6th Generation cousin who toured me around his home and the area of my ancestors. What an exciting trip-it still gives me such pleasure to think about it all.
Music I love to listen to the Oldies and Easy Listening---I have hundreds of the old 8-track tapes I still play each day...
Movies My all-time favorite movies are: Gone with the Wind, Funny Girl, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, and Hello Dolly.
TV I don't watch as much TV as I used to due to time spent managing the Websites, but, I do like to watch Monk, House, Prison Break, 24 and American Idol, sometimes.
Books I love to read-mostly "How To" books, but, when the new ones come out:Danielle Steel, Nora Roberts, and John Grisom's new books, usually get my attention.
Likes I like most everything and everyone...I love FALL and Snow-but, now, that we are retired, I don't have to go out in it if I don't want...I love cozy fires in the fireplace, chocolate of any kind-dark being my favorite, spending time at church and with my relatives-family reunions and taking pictures every chance I get.
Dislikes I guess my only dislike I can think of at the moment is hot weather...
Vices I talk too fast-my own younger brother has said, "Vicki, I can't listen as fast as you talk anymore."

I love to eat out at any type of restaurant, and my favorite drink is a Cherry Coke.
Virtues I am a Christian woman with honesty, love, trust and loyalty given to all of my family and friends. I am known for making a person feel good about themselves and giving lots of "warm fuzzies."
Family I have a husband of 40 years, a daughter with 2 grandchildren (girl and boy) and a son with one granddaughter.

I am blessed my mother is still living at 84, and I have a brother and sister with lots of nieces and nephews, as well as tons of cousins that I love to visit and talk about our growing up years.
    Are you a Mother? Yes
    Are you a Grandmother? Yes

    Brand-New Chapter-West Virginia

    Sunday, February 24, 2008, 3:52 PM [General]

Hi...I am "brand-new" to the Red Hat Society-having formed my own Chapter just two weeks ago. (Feb. 08) I am working on trying to design letterheads, calling cards, making up special Invitations, printing out all the information I can find to share with possible sister members, etc.  I am reading all about the special activities coming up for Red Hatters, as well as looking through Websites and Catalogs to order some "neat" Red Hat products.  I ordered the four pair of Red Hat Shoes for only $20 at the Grasshopper Website, and they are adorable and very comfortable. I am planning to have my first "informal" Tea in March, with our first formal meeting scheduled for Red Hat Day on April 25th.  I am talking to some T-Shirt designers, trying to come up with a suitable "logo" for our chapter: Candy Apple Red Hatters, so, if any of you have any ideas or suggestions for making up a logo or chapter design for fun, please share your creative ideas here with me-thank-you.  Also, I am hoping you all will give me some good advise about what is the best way to start up a new Chapter.  I will be so glad to hear from each of you, as to what you feel makes your chapter the best or most successful.  What works for you? I would love to hear any suggestions you have for beginning activities, as well as to share your pictures with me of table decorations and favors that can be made and/or bought to be used for my first Tea. If you have the time, please share with me anything you feel I need to know, as I look forward to and love to meet new Cyber-Sister Friends.
