It's a glorious day - Think I will bottle some of this late November sunshine to have available in some of the coming Dec / Jan / Feb cloudy snowy days.
Glad you stopped by. We are just recovering from the Mondster Mash Convention held here in Wichita at the end of October. A good time was had by all. Only a few of us GOOFOFFS were able to attend but my did we enjoy ourselves. Seeing that much RED & PURPLE in one room.
So now we are looking forward to our annual Christmas Party at one of our sister's house. We each bring a dish to share - always more than enough. We always play "Dirty Santa" which is a good clean game of gift exchange. The dirty part comes when you take someone else's gift that they have opened before you, instead of taking an unwrapped gift from under the tree. (Gifts are brought by each member to be exchanged. The gifts can be WHITE ELEPHANTS, something you bought and no longer use, a REGIFTED item, or something brand new.) We have had everything from Southwest Art Decor items recycled when someone moved, to a George Foreman Cooker and even Singing Santa Decorations that were bought specifically for the gift exchange. They were all fought over when the game got going. Then Santa Claus shows up with gifts for everyone (compliments of Moi) and thrills the girls with bonus HUGS.
As our usual way of gathering goes, we bring something for our Charity of the Month. We have two that we take care of regularly now, Victory in the Valley (the most fantastic Cancer Support Center) and Ronald McDonald House here in Wichita. We bring Gift Cards at this party for Victory in the Valley recipients to have Christmas. This year we are also bringing nuts and candy for their packages.
The GOOFOFFS (Group Of Ornery Friends Out For Fun & Such) enjoy getting together every month here in Wichita, usually on the West side of town. Some of our favorite dinners have been had at Quincy's and Felipe's. Both have private party rooms where we can gather and not bother any of the other clients. We had our first REDUATION in January this year. What fun.
