    The Declutterization of 2801

    Hello Everyone! I joined THE CLUTTER CURE group(now the new improved DISORDER DISTROYER!) because I am a notorious Pack Rat (the new term for me is Stuffaholic!). My Mom calls me everytime Oprah has a show about cleaning the clutter. I look at it for about 10 minutes, comment on the clutter, then turn to my room and say, "I'm not that bad". But in reality, I am. I hate throwing things away. My motto is, "I'll find a use for it one day".

     

    My dog passed away 4 years ago and I still have his doggy bed and pillow at the foot of my bed. I came across the tennis balls and HUGE bones he loved to chew on and you would have thought I threw them away! NOT, I just picked them up and put them in the doggy bed! Each year my sister visits from Florida, she just shakes her head when she sees it.

     

    CLOTHES! If I see an outfit I like, but have nowhere to wear to, I say, "Buy it, the event will come." Are jumpsuits still in style? I got a purple jumpsuit hanging in the closet - I pulled it out to wear to a Red Hat affair and realized I must have shrunk because the legs are too long, the waist is too high and ACETATE fades!

    I brought 2 lovely prints from an art gallery several years ago, put them in a artist portfolio so they wouldn't get messed up and STILL don't have any wall space to display them!

     

    Why is it so difficult to throw away cord chargers you don't remember what it charges? Well, with the help of this group, I will begin the task of getting my house in order and become a reformed Stuffaholic. BUT DON'T ASK ME TO START WITH THE DOGGY BED!

    Hi Gina, I'm one of those too! I'm getting better though as I get older. Those wall chargers are going to be used one day when I find where it goes to!!! I don't throw away pictures, wall hangings, etc., since we were military and moved. If it didn't fit in one house, it would fit it the next, right? I guess I need to join the Clutter Cure group. Well, I definitely wouldn't be the one to ask you to start with the doggy bed. Maybe we could both throw away one unused wall charger? Sounds like you've made a great start though!     Hey Gina - Thank you for this hilirous group of Decluttrerization in 2008. Not funny for you, but for me, because I am the worlds biggest PACK RAT. As I read both of your blogs, I see myself. I see what needs to be done, and get too tired to start. I have made some progress these many years, but just not enough. It is time to let go of some of the things. PURPLE JUMP SUIT!!! What did you do with it? Can we fix anything on it so that you can wear it to RH functions? When the kids were smaller and I had put their clothes in bags for my husband to take to Goodwill or where ever. About 4 years ago, I found them in the back of his truck that was in the garage. I THOUGHT THEY WERE LONG GONE!!!! I had to wash them all over again and then I got rid of them (smile). I too, will not say anything about the doggie bed. Have a great day

    Gina...Welcome to the QMB2 and to Clutter Cure...I have been a Clutter Kicker since Ant Judy started it in Sept. 07....There is a dynamite bunch of ladies who post often and support each other. We are all different levels of "Stuffaholics" but we all have the "issue" of clinging to clutter...I'm so glad that you have joined our group because it will change your way of thinking and open your eyes to what you have had trouble seeing in the past. Just remember to take one baby step at a time, especially in the beginning. You will be amazed at your progress before long. Your mother and sister will be speechless and that alone should make the whole process worth it..LOL...

    Gina, we in the Clutter Cure group started out trying to pitch SOMETHING every day. Pretty soon you get the declutter bug, and there's no stopping you. You're off to a super start. Welcome to the group.

    Gina I am new in these chat rooms, but this sounds like a good group for me..but I dont' know if I can throw anything away or not..sometimes my drawers get so full I just empty them in a plastic box and put it in the storage shed because I know there will be something in there I will need later..a part to something or things I have misplaced..of course I seldom see the containers after there stored...cudos to you for trying..
