    Prayer of the Week

    Posted By: Queen Pebbles

May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be..
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing,
    Dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.

    monday Advent Devotion

    Daily Reflection

In my part of the world in mid-December the sun rises not too long before eight and sets a bit after four. If the weather is quite mild, that is, hanging around the freezing point, we're likely to have a cloudy day also. Information about when the sun rises and sets has to be taken on faith, one might say. We often don't actually see it. At this same time of the year the Advent texts read in church seem most appropriate: "Though darkness cover the earth and thick clouds the peoples, upon us the Lord shines" and "A people living in darkness has seen a great light; on those overshadowed by death a light has arisen." Christ is that light, the Son of God come in the flesh. If those around us are to sense that the Lord does offer illumination, brightness, warmth, that will certainly require faith on their part. But we ease it for them, we bolster the faith of others, if some of that light shines out in our behavior. If some hope, joy and confidence are apparent in what we do and say. The light of the Lord only becomes actual, meaningful for our world through the illumination, warmth and raising of spirits that Christians bring with them.

Actually quote of the day-St. Josemaria

"If all those people became so enthusiastic and were ready to acclaim you over a piece of bread, even though the multiplication was a very great miracle, shouldn’t we be doing much more for all the many gifts you have granted us, and especially for giving us your very self unreservedly in the Eucharist?" - The Forge, 304

    ACT OF ENTRUSTMENT
TO THE MOST BLESSED VIRGIN MARY
    (FOR YOUNG PEOPLE).

    Virgin of Fatima,
    my dearly beloved Mother,
    I entrust myself today,
    in a very special way,
    to your Immaculate Heart.

    By this solemn act,
I offer my whole life to you,
my heart, my soul, my body
and especially this time of my youth
in which I am now living.

Guide me along the way that Jesus has traced out for us:

The way of love, of goodness and of sanctity.

Help me to flee from sin,
    from evil and from egoism
and to resist temptations to violence,
    to impurity, and to drugs.

I promise you to go to confession often
and to receive Jesus into my heart
as my spiritual food of life,
to observe the commandments of God
and to walk along the road of love and purity.

I want to be a witness of unity
by my great love for the Pope,
    for my bishop,
    and for my priests.

I love you, 0 sweetest Mother of mine,
and I offer you my youth
for the triumph of your Immaculate Heart in the world.

    The Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.

Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

    Amen.

Sevenfold Prayer for the Poor Souls

    First Prayer:
Lord, Almighty God, through the Sacred Blood which Your Divine Son shed in the Garden of Gethsemane, I ask You to free the souls in Purgatory, in particular those who are most neglected. Lead them into Your Glory so that they praise and glorify You in eternity. Amen.

Pray 1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary; Lord, grant them eternal peace.

    Second Prayer:
Lord, Almighty God, through the Sacred Blood which Your Divine Son shed during the cruel Scourging, I ask You to free the souls in Purgatory, in particular those who stand the closest to the entrance to Your Delight. Let them begin to praise and glorify You now in eternity. Amen.

Pray 1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary; Lord, grant them eternal peace.

    Third Prayer:
Lord, Almighty God, through the Sacred Blood which Your Divine Son shed at the painful Crowning of thorns, I ask You to free the souls in Purgatory, in particular those in most need of our intercession. Do not let them wait any longer to praise and glorify You in eternity. Amen.

Pray 1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary; Lord, grant them eternal peace.

    Fourth Prayer:
Lord, Almighty God, through the Sacred Blood which Your Divine Son shed in the streets of Jerusalem as He carried the Cross on His Holy Shoulder, I ask You to free the souls in Purgatory, in particular the one who in Your Eyes has the greatest merits so that he can, from the high and glorious throne that awaits him, praise and glorify You in eternity. Amen.

Pray 1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary; Lord, grant them eternal peace.

    Fifth Prayer:
Lord, Almighty God, through the Sacred Flesh and Blood of Your Divine Son, Jesus Christ, which He Himself on the evening before His Death offered to His beloved apostles as food and drink, which He thereby left behind as continuous Offering and life-giving Sustenance for the faithful of the entire Church, I ask You to free the souls in Purgatory, in particular the one who honored this Secret of His Infinite Love the most, so that he with Your Divine Son and the Holy Spirit may, through this Holy Sacrament, praise and glorify You in eternity. Amen.

Pray 1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary; Lord, grant them eternal peace.

    Sixth Prayer;
Lord, Almighty God, through the Sacred Blood that Your Divine Son shed from His Hands and Feet while on the beam of the Cross, I ask of You to free the souls in Purgatory, in particular the one for whom I must pray the most. Do not let that one stay there any longer due to my fault so that he may praise and glorify You in eternity. Amen.

Pray 1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary; Lord, grant them eternal peace.

    Seventh Prayer:
Lord, Almighty God, through the Sacred Blood and Water which flowed from the Side of Your Divine Son in front of the eyes of His Holy Mother and to her greatest anguish, I ask You to free the souls in Purgatory, in particular the one who honored the highest Mother of Heaven the most intimately. Let him soon enter Your Glory in order to praise and glorify You with Mary in eternity. Amen.

Pray 1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary; Lord, grant them eternal peace.
