When I think of the things my mother did - from running a household with ten kids, finding time to sew for 5 daughters, knit sweaters & mittens, cook, clean, do preserves, celebrate everyone's birthday ... I'm amazed that I have so little to do, and so much less time to do it! BTW, my mother's name? Elizabeth. So, your blog entry brings a huge smile and a wee tear -- both of thankfulness. Ant Judy |

Hardanger-- oohh-- used to do it. Such beautiful ornaments-- I have got to get back to it! That and my unfinished cross-stitch. Thanks for the reminders. Juneith |

I am SO excited about this group, and the ladies who are members of the group. I do cross-stitching, knitting, crochet, hardanger, quilting, you name it, I probably do/did it. I am currently working on a large cross-stitch of a single white rose that I started after my Mom passed away in 2003 - so I hope to finish it this year. Awesome Alice |

Hi Elizabeth. I'm a quilter and have been for many years. I've stenciled rooms in many houses and I've sewn many miles! Cross-stitch used to be easier than it is now... the eyes just don't focus like they used to, but I still do it. Sometimes maybe what we call progress really isn't. Just a stray thought. Have a wonderful holiday!
