I recently saw a cute little cover up for dogs, and upon looking at it realized I could make one much cheaper then the 9 dollars they were selling it for. When I looked at it and held it open all it looked like was a babies bib, they had simply put a strip of material on each side of the big area to wrap and secure around the dogs waist, the neck line had a piece of velcro as well. So I got together some scrap material I had, cut out the shape of half a bib using stiff paper and put it on the edge of the scrap and cut away. I then stitched up the edge using a zigzag stitch, sewed on some straps, put the velcro on and now my little girl has a cute and warm cover. This was so easy that I wanted to share it with all you wonderful ladies. I'll post a picture on my site of it once the batteries are charged for my camera..lol. Love and Hugs Kim.
Got my hat
Well I got my first pink hat, which is a plain one, but I already have goodies to dress it up and I can't wait to step out and wear it proudly. I also picked up a beautiful brand new with the tags on it pink suit at the second had store for an amazing 6 dollars. Love and Hugs Kim.
What a Great Day
Well my aviary that my loving husband built for me is complete, it's 3ft wide by 8.5 feet long and 9 feet high, a lot bigger then the old one. We went to the swap meet Saturday and picked up finches, doves, and button quail to add to my bird family of keets and cockatiels. I enjoy sitting on the bench and watching them, listening to the pond and relaxing. Today I'm going to finish the outside decorating and Monday up goes the tree, I love this time of year, people seem to be so much more giving, wish it could be that way always, maybe someday. Well till next time Love and Hugs Kim.
Pie Auction
A few of you have asked how the pie auction went for the Elks, well we did great we made over 3, 000 after the matching donation. My rum balls brought in 75.00, and wow what a battle over them, guess next time I will have to make more. My next big project is a cake for the Garden club Christmas party, think I will make a Christmas wreath. I love to bake. Love and Hugs Kim.
Whew it's the weekend
I've been so busy, with the getting ready for Thanksgiving and the house full of people that I have not been on for a bit. The dinner went great we ended up with about 13 of us here, everything was super yummy and of course I ate more then I should have. I didn't dare venture out on Black Friday, I did that once before and it was not a fun experience at all so of those people out there are crazy to say the least. This weekend we are just sitting back and relaxing, my husband just took my son to the golf course to hit a bucket of balls and I get the house to myself to do NOTHING and I love it. I still have yet to find that perfect pink hat but I'm still looking I know it's out there. Well till next post, lots of love and hugs Kim.
Building my wardrobe
Well I picked up a couple pink shirts today and got a wonderfully soft and warm lavendar colored sweater feels like a comfy bath robe. I'm still in search of that perfect hat or one that I can customize. Finished making me a lavendar and pink scarf and now I'm working on the cap. It's almost Turkey Day ladies hope everyone is having fun and getting ready for the holidays, I know I am.
Getting Ready for Pie Auction
I have been busy all day getting things ready for Fridays Pie Auction at the Elks Lodge. I've made Mississippi Mud Pie's, Strawberry Pies and by request my Grandmothers Awesome Rum Balls. Talked to a couple ladies I know about becoming members, but neither showed any interest, I know I'll find some I won't give up. Well time to sit back have a glass of wine and work on some cross stitch before bed.
The start of making new friends
Well here it is my start at reaching out and making new, hopefully life long friends. I currently work at home for our business so don't get to meet to many new people through the normal work arena. I have started this new group of Red Hatters called The L. L. Ladies with is short for Loving Life. I would love to get a group together to meet at the least twice a month for lunch, movies, wine tasting, or whatever we choose to do. I look forward to talking with you and have a GREAT DAY.
