Vacations are wonderful...but it is so nice to be home again!
As I mentioned, my cousin and I cruised out of Ft. Lauderdale to the eastern Caribean. We stopped in Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, Antigua, Tortola and Nassau. Weather was gorgeous, but a bit warm for me.
I would like to have taken some tours at each island where I could see more of the actual flavor of the islands, but my travel companions were only interested in shopping...not my favorite thing. It's amazing to me that some can spend hours looking thru one shopping place. I like to look, but it takes me very little time to see if there is anything I want and if so, I buy it and move on. If not, I want to move on. I was a bit afraid to go on a tour of the islands on my own so I didn't.
In St. Thomas I ran into a group of Red Hatters from North Florida. They came down the sidewalk dressed in their purple and sporting Red Hats. I stopped them and inquired as to their chapter and they said there were 20 of them cruising together on a different ship than ours and they were having a blast. It was fun meeting them.
I dropped a few coins in the casino on board and ended up donating - not surprising! It was fun tho.
This was my second cruise and I learn more of the process each time. I wasn't aware that there are laundry facilities onboard. Coin operated washers/dryers. It would have made a real difference in how I packed had I known. One could get by with smaller luggage to haul around. So, I'll be smarter next time!
Flights were a nightmare both coming and going to Florida from WA state. Delays, delays, delays. Which in turn made connections dicey and in one case totally missed leaving us sitting at the Denver airport for 8 hours waiting for the next flight. At this point I don't care if I never see another airplane!! (I'm sure I'll change my mind in the future!).
I'm delighted to be back home, sleeping in my own bed, having my dogs around me and doing my own thing. Especially missed the QMB2 and chatting with my friends.
Hynie/Linda

Hey there, Linda! Glad to hear you had a nice time!! It was good to hear from you and thank you for the kind comment on my blog! Don't be a stranger-- drop in anytime-- I love communicating back and forth with my friends. By the way, I read about your tatoos on Rhinestone Chic's site and I've been meaning to ask you a question, if you don't mind. Do you have any piercings, besides ears? A Big Welcome Home Hug,
