Love the pictures, Lady Di.  Were you able to go inside the cottage, or the castle?   I've never been out of the US, exept for Mexico and Canada.  I can't even imagine buildings that old.  Do people still get in the Roman baths?

Not inside Culloden Cottage - it was closed for the winter.  Urquhart Castle we did wander around inside the ruins.

I believe the guide said that residents of Bath can still go in the Roman Baths in the wee early hours before it opens to the public.

Ancients believed the spring waters that fed it were holy and medicinal and could cure whatever ailed them.  Perhaps they did....... which is also why people "took (drank) the waters" in Victorian times from the spring fed fountain in the "Pump Room".  Full of minerals obviously....... metallic tasting but not tooooooooooo horrid.  Wouldn't want to drink it everyday, tho'.  eecchh
