How do you use QMB2??

I used to go on QMB--had it set to active topics several times a day--I would just run down the new entries and read anything that was of interest to me. Is there anyway to do that with QMB2?? How are other people using this board?? It seems so different to me---

Re: How do you use QMB2??

Carol, welcome. You have found the Hatquarters group. Great! Click on Index and then save that page to your favorites list. From then on, you'll be able to come directly here by clicking on the link in your list. If you join other groups, you can do the same thing.

While there's no active topics option here, you can quickly tell when posts were made because to the right of the topic it will say TODAY, or YESTERDAY, or a date farther in the past with the time the post was made. The newest posts are at the top of the list.

I also like to click on the QMB2 logo at the upper left-hand corner of any page and then click on the number of blogs that have been made. That will open a complete list of all the blogs. You can click on the titles to read them and find out more about the individual posters. Once you catch up with this, you can click on the logo once or twice a day to read blogs that have been posted since the last time you looked.

Hope that helps a bit.

Re: How do you use QMB2??

Carol, navigation can be a challenge, but I think it's a much freer site than the QMB1, so I'm loving it.                                I posted a blog this week with some tips for getting around the QMB2; read it at http://www.qmb2.com/foxyyayas. Tex also has some good advice above.                                Also, after logging in, click on "the Hub" and you'll see who among your friends have posted new blogs or photos or which groups have new postings (although that feature doesn't seem to be very accurate on my hub, so I just periodically click on the various groups I joined to see what's happened since last I was there).                               Maybe some day the techies will get the "subscribe to this topic" option working, which would help you find new posts to topics you've contributed to. I'm sure they're working on improving the navigation (at least I hope so), but for now, just add lots of friends, join the groups that interest you most, and go to the www.qmb2.com address periodically to see if any new blogs, groups, or photos catch your eye.                          All the best!                      Rita, Queen Foxy Loxy

Re: How do you use QMB2??

Someone on the QMB suggested saving each group you join to your favorites list. I've done that, and it makes viewing all my groups so much faster. No more going back to my site or my hub to switch groups. I have them arranged alphabetically on my favorites list, and I just click from one to another. It's easy to quickly see whether there are any new posts since my last visit.

Re: How do you use QMB2??

This will probably be the dumbest question posted - ever - but I can't seem to open messages I get in my inbox - when I click on the message it routes me back to profile page of sender - I'm sure it's something easy - but I've tried everything - help - Tex - I know you'll be out there to rescue me -  -  and truly - I work on a computer every day -I figured it out - for other newbies - you click on subject - duh - -

Re: How do you use QMB2??

LOL, Pat. I'll try. Are you clicking on the sender's name/picture or on the title of the message? If you post on the title of the message, it should take you  to the message, but if you post on the sender's name or photo, it will take you to her site.

Re: How do you use QMB2??

Now here's a dumb question, I can't figure out how to save to favorites? Where do you do that? What am I missing?

Re: How do you use QMB2??

Michele, I guess different service providers do it different ways, but with Internet Explorer, the word "Favorites" appears at the top of the page just below the address of the website you are currently visiting. If you click on "Favorites," you'll have the option to Add to Favorites.

When you click on that, you'll have the option to add that page and rename it if you wish.

If you add it, the list of favorites should show on the left side of your screen. If it doesn't, then click on the word "Favorites" in the next line at the top of the screen. On IE, it has a gold star next to it. That will display the favorites list.

When you've added a favorite URL, you can move it into alphabetical order or whatever order you wish by clicking on the name and dragging it to the desired location.

Holler at me if you have any questions.

Re: How do you use QMB2??

Well, I guess I'm really going to show my ignorance but what is the differance in a blog and the forum.  I see  posting to both, but don't quite know why.  Head in the ozone I guess.

Re: How do you use QMB2??

The blog is basically the front page of the site or group with the profile, comments, pics and friends or members.

The forum is the message board.

Re: How do you use QMB2??

Does anyone else experience this?  I can view the different forums and go back and forth with my "back and forward" navigation buttons but if I make a quick post and try the same thing it tells me that the web page has expired.  I then have to click on forums and scroll down to get to the network forum that I want to get back to and choose my threads all over again.

Re: How do you use QMB2??

Q>Mum Darlene I also have that problem getting around, somehow I loose ground and must go back to start. Another thing is getting back to QMB that is a problem.
