Ash Wednesday
This isn't a quote from one of my children or grandchildren, but it's too good not to share.
At Ash Wednesday services during the children's Bible study at our church, one little boy was reluctant to let our pastor put ashes on him because he -- "didn't know whose they were!"
Of course, our pastor went on to explain about the burning of the palms, etc. The way a child's mind works is a wonder!

Re: Ash Wednesday
Toni...That story is just precious...How innocent the little ones are. There must have been major turmoil going on in his head thinking he was about to be adorned with somebody's ashes. When my younger son was about six, my sister had to have her breast removed due to cancer. The night before her surgery, little Marc and I were about to say his prayers. I told him that we should ask Jesus to watch over his aunt and keep her safe. Marc looked up at me very seriously and said, "Mom, this is a serious thing...I think that we should be talking to His Father for this"...I had all I could do to keep a straight face. I just held him and agreed...
