My mom has gotten me involved with genealogy when she showed me she traced her line on her fathers side to the 1600's and I was facinated!! I have been trying to trace my heritage on my dad's side since my mom already has her side done, but I find my dad's side of the family is very standoffish. My dad's great grandpa came over to America from Lebanon in 1836. We havent ever been real close to anyone on his side of the family because my grandfather married my grandma who was a decendent from Czechaslavokia and so his family disowned him because he didnt marry "of their kind". Anyway, I hope I will some day break down the barriers and open up some really neat branches. I have a website at "www.genebase.com/ddlove". Its a free website.

Hi Julie, I was bit by the genealogy bug about five years ago... It was at that time that I started working on my family tree as to join the DAR. It took me most of that time to gather the needed proofs etc... I am a member as of last Oct... I now share family history with any of my family that are interested! Thank you for the group!

Hi Julie, I got interested in genealogy when I found some old pictures of my grandfather in my mother's album. The stories she told me before she passed on just spurred me on to start researching both sides of the family. I have been working on my family tree since around 1993 tracing my father's branch back to 1792 England and 1814 Ireland and my mother's branch back to 1813 Georgia. I especially love all the tidbits of information on their everyday lives. I could go on forever on this subject but I'll stop and tell you I am so glad for your invitation to join this group.
