    My intro

    Thursday, April 16, 2009, 1:55 PM [General]

My husband and I moved to Maryland when he gained a temporary federal job back in 1999.  He soon had a full time Archivist postion at the Natioanal Archives in College Park and has constantly been moving up the ranks since then.  We lived in Riverdale while house hunting and bought our first home together in Bowie.  We lived there just days short of two years ans then moved here to Upper Marlboro.  I have held a few jobs in this time.  I worked at Magruders Deli, Wawa on 301, Vidmark Video, and B& B Main Street Cafe.  All  these businesses but the Wawa store has gone out of business.  My last job for the past 4 1/2 yrs was with Target in Bowie.  Now I am back to being a housewife and applying or a new job.

I was married to Gary Waller for almost 20 yrs.  We have three children,  Nancy 29, Joshua 27, and Abby 25.  We have one grandson Hero who is 3.  Nancy is married to her husband Jason and they live in NY.  Nancy graduated from VCU with a BA in fashion design and is designing handbags with Macys. Joshua works as a pharmacy tech at MCV Hospital in Richmond, Va.  Lastly my daughter Abby and her S.O. Jessie live also in Richmond.  Abby loves animals and has done grooming, doggy daycare and is now working with the SPCA.

Tim and I have visited several Tea rooms in the area,  The Gypsy Tea room in Westminster, MD.  The Retro Tea room of Bowie, MD, The Royal Tea Room in La Plata, MD, the  Serenity Tea Room in Frederick, MD, and the Reynolds Tavern Tea Room in Annapolis, MD.  We have been to two dinner theaters as well.  The Blair Mansion and another one east of Bowie.

Tim and I are pretty much home bodies.  I want to change that and am working slowly on getting myself and hubby out in our community.  But we do enjoy our home and the almost 1/4 acre it sits on.  We spend our warmer sunnier days outside gardening and working with our Koi pond and remodeling (for the 3rd time) our sreen room.  We have 8 dachshunds which is the biggest reason we are such home bodies.  We doggied ourselves into a corner.  They are doxies with too much yippy attitude!  Though I'd dearly love to hostess a party in my soon to be much larger screen room I am afraid it would try the patience of the most loyal dog lover to be around my herd.  Sigh..........  Part of the remodel of the back yard area is a multi run dachshund sized kennel.

I have been sailing on the Potomac with my x navy/sailor hubby and my two girls.  Tim found an affordable sail boat rental business.  I recommend it highly, but start out in calm weather.  The day we took my girls sailing got cut short.  We were called in due to Tornado and thunder storm threats.  PHEW.....  did we have wind in the sails!

I really love nature and trails.  My favorite place is the Rocky MTs.  I would love to go back with Tim some day.

I also like live music.  Orchastra, quartette, light Jazz, piano, guitar.  Tim and I used to go to The Rabbit Cafe in Bowie when it was open and would enjoy the Celtic music played by two sea shanty singing fellows.   It would be nice to find another coffee house that let amateur musicians come in and play.
