I have noticed a lot of newbies to the QMB2 lately and I am inviting anyone who is reading this blog to join in the conversations of the many groups on this board.  My personal favorite is the Hatquarters Group and the Hatter's Chatters forum within that group.  If you have questions on "how to" just click on our pictures and ask away or contact Hatquarters to help you.  There are a lovely bunch of ladies to chat with there and we welcome you all to join in.  Come on now, don't be shy.

    Meeting Queen Tillie

    Friday, November 13, 2009, 11:15 PM [General]

Recently my chapter and two others from Spokane, Washington had the pleasure of meeting Queen Tillie from Ensenada Baja, Mexico.  She was attending her Grandson's wedding and wanted to know if there were any Red Hatters who would like to join her for a cup of coffee before she had to return home.  Tillie and I were able to do a whirlwind tour of Spokane before meeting everyone for dinner where we all had a great time.  See some of our pictures on my site under blog photos.

    Warning for Dog Owners

    Sunday, November 8, 2009, 7:30 PM [General]

A news article in my morning paper caught my eye.  It was about Salmon and Steelhead fish being a hazard to dogs.  The article goes on to say that Salmon poisoning is specific to the resgion west of the Cascade Rang in Oregon, Washington, Califonia and British Columbia.  The fish eats a snail who has a fluke and in the fluke is a bacteria called neorickettsia.  This bacteria is what actually makes the dog sick if they should happen to chew on any part of a raw carcass of the fish. The bacteria enters the digestive system and if not treated this will be fatal for the dog.  The moral of the story is to be very careful with your "fishing buddy" when you are out enjoying the great outdoors.
