      I'm crocheting... baby things.

    Afghans

    Bibs - Bonnets - Booties

My aunt gave me ALL of her yarn!

She was saving it to make ... baby afghans.

    I've taken her place.

Some things I'm making.. are my own design.

Some are patterns I've found in books.

And some, are from the old issues of

    *Crafty Crochet for Canadians*

Sure love to talk crocheting again in this Group.

Now that it's colder outdoors... I've picked up my yarn and crochet hook again.

I'm making "popcorn" garlands for a Christmas tree.

This is the best kind... NO calories while you're making them!!

    LOL

Anyone else crocheting yet / again / still ?

    Autumn Season... crocheting

Friday, October 3, 2008, 03:46 AM EST [General]

I just booked in an Autumn Craft Market.

I likely won't be doing any crocheting for it.

    Instead, I'm doing Hubcap Clocks.
And making little scarecrow goodie bags...
    about 100 of them.

    *~*

See you.... after the market on the 25th is over.

Wish me luck in selling ... LOTS and lots!!

    Need... yarn money.....

    LOL

    Anyone Crocheting?

    Anyone Crocheting, yet?

    I haven't touched a hook all Summer.

And no, the things are not done
for the wedding.... giving them a
    book about the Maritimes instead.

Hope to be crocheting a scarecrow's
clothes in time for Oct. 10th..... well,
it needs to be done for our Thanksgiving,
but I've set the 10th as my deadline....
(and we all know how well I meet
    deadlines..... LOL)

    It's time to.... CROCHET!!

I've not been crocheting lately, too much going on in June.
BUT... I've a nephew getting married in the fall, well,
one getting married in July too, but I likely won't have
my necklace done in time for that wedding.

My latest project is to try to crochet a necklace
(among other things) using shells and shell beads.
(Perhaps a belt, too). I also want to do napkin rings
for the oldest nephew. I found some lovely fruit picks
with shells on the end, and wanted (immediately - lol)
to add to that idea. Napkin rings for them, a necklace
to wear at the wedding for me.

Plus, I still want to do a red hat afghan, but at the rate
I'm going, it will likely end up being a lap throw!
    Or, perhaps even a shawl.........

That's enough gabbing... for now (g)

I've been concerned about the direction to take the crochet
group. Most of the time, I don't do much crocheting in the
hot days of the Summer months, unless I'm spending a lot
of time out at the cottage, in the FOG; in which case, I do
have time. In past years, when my parents had their cottage,
I'd take whatever project I was creating with me on visits,
and get quite a bit of stuff done while I was there.
It was such a CREATIVE place!! Likely because there
was no house-work for me to do... lol

I've more-or-less put the group on hold for the month
of June. Perhaps for the month of July, too.

I sent a broadcast out several weeks ago, but only 1 gal
answered. 1 gal had answered the previous broadcast.
I personally don't like the broadcast feature.
The links aren't "active" in the broadcast!
    I much prefer "real" messages.

I sent "real" messages to the gals in the Group
(who I hadn't already heard from) yesterday...
and have had almost 100% participation!!

    THANK YOU, LADIES!!

Most of them DO crochet in the Summer....
some all year round! Some are interested in my
seashell crocheting (words dear to a designer's heart... lol)
and some DO read the group posts. Some can't read
the small font in the forums, so perhaps I will start
posting more as a "blog" so it can be read by all.
Hence the HUGE font I'm using for this (rambling) post.

I'm tied up right now with family things, but I've started
getting that "itching in my fingers" that usually foretells
of a crochet idea waiting for me. I've been gathering up
seashells for years, and have found some shell beads
(with the holes already drilled.... COOL) so all that's
    needing now.. is TIME.
The first wedding is in Mahone Bay, which is a VERY
creative town in Nova Scotia! We're hanging around a
bit after the wedding, so perhaps I'll get "inspired" while
I'm there, and come home raring to go with crochet ideas!
Also want to make more of the belts I designed several
years ago (I've gained a wee bit of weight..... lol).

So, ladies, the group is on hold until the end of June...
but will start up again early/ mid July.

Stop in when you can... I'll try to make a post in it
once a week, likely at the beginning of the week.
Weekends are pretty booked, depending (of course.. sigh)
on my teeth, and reactions to mosquito bites. Won't I be
GLAD when Fall gets here, and there are NO mosquitoes!!

     Keep on crocheting!!

Crocheting in the SUNNY days of Spring

Friday, May 16, 2008, 02:20 PM EST [General]
    Posted By: Mitsie

    It's Spring!! Summer is coming!!

I usually croceht a lot in the Summer months.
It's an "allowable" form of "work", while I'm at the cottage,
    or visiting my family members.

Last summer, I designed my own belt pattern, made
out of the same yarn people use to make those lovely
dish cloths that sell really well at bazaars.
I then made them in every color, to go along with all
    of my different outfits.

This year, I'm trying to design a purse to go along with
the belts. Until then, I'm taking along other small projects
to work on, while I sit and "rest".. lol.
I'm not a person that likes to sit and do nothing.
My hands have to be busy all the time.

    How about you?
Anyone have any smallish things you're making,
while you're sitting in the sun?
IF you like to crochet, please post!!

It's now April! Time for "Springish" Designs.

Short projects, that we can pick up and then
put back down, in lieu of going outdoors.

Short projects that we can take with us
when we go sit out in the garden.

    Baby shower gifts, wedding gifts,
things for the house, or cottage.

Anyone have any requests for patterns?
