    My latest craft project

My latest craft project is making wine glass holder necklaces. They are used for WineFests and attending wine and cheese tasting events. It makes ones hands free for other things when walking around at the Winefests and Tasters Events, except for when taking sips of the wine from the glasses. Makes it easier for looking at crafters items, etc.when strolling through them.

My Daughter-in-law sells them at local Winefests and I sell them on the internet at eBay, Etsy and ArtFire.  It keeps me busy and out of trouble. I also have some of them made out of red hat fabric that is in my DIL's stash of the ready-made ones that she sells. I actually show 24 different fabric samples for folks to choose from.

I also make up lined wine bottle totes that have handles on them for carrying bottles of wine, too. Some people call them Bring Your Own Booze Bags for carrying bottles into restaurants that don't serve liquor that allow you to BYOB. Also in red hat fabrics too.

Plus I also have been making up adult bibs, aprons, shopping bags, grocery bags, totes, and other creative things that have practical use. I've been selling these things at the flea markets in the different senior citizens developments in my area. That's why I'm not on the computer that much because I have my sewing machine going instead of the computer.....LOL.

Have some of that fabric with President Obama's photos on it, but, they're reporting on some of the distasteful Obama T-shirts on the 11PM news on TV as I'm typing away here, so, my Obama fabric will just stay in my fabric stash at  for now, next to my Elvis fabric, etc..... More photos and the fabric samples in the photo gallery..... Peggy

A new bag - A Tapestry Miranda Bag

I finally finished the Tapestry Miranda. Used a strip of gross-grain
ribbon on it for decoration, going around the top of the bag and for
the tabs. It is an extremely large print so I cut out the lining
pieces for the outside section. I sewed the interfacing to the
    lining.

Used some metal brass buttons plus a deco button which is backed with
some of the gross-grain ribbon for decoration. I doubled up the
ribbon when using it for the tabs by running a row of stitches near
their edges. The Brass buttons are actually covering up some hand
sewing I did on the tabs.

Put store-bought handles on the bag. Put a Velcro strip on the inside
for a closure. When I start making something, I never know what it's
going to exactly look like until I complete it, because I end up
getting different ideas and make changes as I go along.

The one thing that didn't change was the fabric. I used the tapestry
for the outside, the blue geometric for the lining which is backed
with 100 % polyester fleece that is sandwiched in between another
layer of white fabric. The quilting was done when I sewed in the
pockets to hold all layers together.

The pockets are of the dark green with broken black lines going down
it. Made an insert for the bottom made out of the plastic canvas
that's covered over with the green pocket fabric.....

I also used some kite string for my hand sewing. Ran a row of it
around the top of the bag because the material was too thick to run
through the sewing machine once the bag was completely
    assembled......

Had problems when uploading the photos of the bag in the photo gallery. I kept on getting an "Error" code, so, now there's more than one of the same photo in the album and the computer won't let me delete the extra ones..... That's computers for you.....LOL....  Also re-doing this, too, because getting an "Error" code. So if it appears twice, you know why..... Peggy in NJ
