So excited, moved from supporting member to Queen 3/14/2013! This is THE BIRTHDAY MONTH for me (big 50) and I've made the leap from the kiddie pool to the deep end. I decided to become Queen! I am looking forward to building a beautiful Chapter with some amazing women, and making new friends along the way. I find it an honor to introduce women to this wonderful organization.
I will be holding a tea on 4/20/13 at Abigail’s Tea Room for anyone interested in finding out more about the RHS.
Ta ta for now!

RHS Event
Enjoyed a High Noon Tea with special friends of RHS, donning my new antique red Christmas hat! This time it was the Lavender Patch, a Bed and Breakfast/Tea Room in Marietta PA. Food and atmosphere was wonderful, would recommend this tea room to anyone that delights in fine food. We had pomegranate tea, arulula salad with apples and pomegranates, finger sandwiches which included a goat cheese and cucumber “tree shaped” sandwich, candy-cane scones with Devonshire and peppermint cream, finishing off with a cream-de-mint ice-cream, sugar cookie and Santa Claus hat brownie.. All the food was homemade and served with decorative touches. Nice day to relax and re-group after a busy week.

RHS event last evening with some very fun ladies. Nice Dinner at Bottling Works inside Bube's Brewery, then a "ghost" tour with the great-grandaughter of Aloysius Bube. Intersting stories and history of happenings years ago in little Mount Joy PA.
Plan on attending more Chapter events later this fall and into the winter. They are always relaxing and fun!
Reduation is coming up in the Spring..wow almost 50! Where do the years go!
Regards,
Countess Kate

My First Red Hat Event - High Tea at a lovely tea room in Thomasville PA! I was nervous but was quickly put at ease. What a terrific group of ladies and lots of fun! The tables were decorated with old china and pretty flowers along with candelabra.
Our menu included the following:
Refreshing glass of Mandarin Orange/Pineapple/Papaya Juice Fruit Medley with a surprise of fresh coconut at the bottom, Garden Salad with a cooked House Dressing of Honey Mustard A plate of Breads including: Plum Tea Bread, Blueberry Scones, Pecan Tea Bread, and Chocolate Oatmeal Scones with Devonshire Cream (yum) Broccoli and Potato Soup or Chicken Corn Noodle Soup Tea Sandwiches of Chicken Salad on Multigrain Bread and Ham & Swiss on white Choice of Chocolate Cake with Whipped Cream and Peanut Butter Icing or Vanilla Pudding Cake with homegrown local strawberries and Whipped Cream At least 20 different kinds of teas were offered, our table chose Cherry and Vanilla Chai
Overall experience I would rate it a 9 (just because a 10 would be perfect and no experience is ever perfect)
Thanks for reading this and if you have never been to a “High Tea” I would strongly recommend it!

I have been shopping for a lavender dress for my first “tea” coming up in just a few weeks. Today I not only found a dress, but experienced two very sweet sales ladies who were extremely kind…and a lot of fun! As I walked into the boutique, they were having a discussion about the RHS! My ears perked right up and when they ask if they could help me, I told them I was a “pink hatter” looking to purchase a dress for my first “Tea”. Ironically, this store has a whole section of Purple, Red and Lavender outfits, including hats and scarves to match! Long story short, I found a lovely lilac dress with a light weight jacket for spring. It has a v-neckline and embroidered flowers on the collar and sleeves. Of course these sales ladies could not have me leave without adding some BLING, so…they hooked me up with a flashy necklace and earrings to boot! I simply cannot wait to wear my new outfit with my baby-pink hat (arriving any day now), and of course the “bling”!
