It's officially spring but you wouldn't know it. One nice day and four damp days. Waiting for the weather to be warm to go outside and spruce things up. I think we had nicer weather during the winter. A very unusual winter. I think we had snow twice-didn't amount to anything. My best friend still teaches and they had one snow day. I can remember when I was little how cold the winters were and how much snow we had. I remember walking home from school freezing. Talk about global warming! We are really experiencing it more and more each year. Scary!!!!
It's April!!
April already- hard to believe. The weather is very unpredictable. It's nice one day and then chilly. We've had some heavy rain and winds the past week.
Now that I'm finally done with therapy on my wrist I hope to have more time to do things.
I started Gram sitting again on Monday. Evan goes to Kindercare on Tuesday and Thursday, his PopPop watches him Wed. and Fri. mornings, and his Grandpop watches him in the afternoon.
I watch him all day on Monday. I go up to my daughter's house in the morning, give Evan his breakfast, watch Thomas the Train, and then bring him down my house for the day. My husband takes him home after dinner on his way to rehearsal. I am exhausted that night- getting too old but totally enjoying it.
I started fabric painting again and working on my scrapbooking. I painted a shirt for my OT who was really great when I was going to therapy. I painted hands on the front and decorated them with jewels for nails, beads and lace for bracelets, and stones for rings. She really liked it.
My husband and I went to a dinner/theater adventure on Friday night that one of my Red Hat sisters did. It was really a great evening. She invited about 25 people. We had dinner at her house first and then we all went to the Commerce Center Theater and saw Sweet Honey in the Rocks. They are an acapella group of five women and they have an interpreter who signs all of their songs. They do songs that they have written and use dialog and instruments while performing. They're style was quite different from what I am used to but they were excellent. Very talented. They were nominated for a Grammy
I think I have become addicted to games on the computer. I have just learned how to play free cell, solitare, and spider solitaire. Very good for the brain.
Have a good week all my Red Hat friends.
Happy St. Patty's Day
St. Patty's Day and in six days Easter. Seems like it was just Christmas. Time flies when you are having fun. I went to a St. Patty's Day Red Hat tea on Saturday. It was very nice. There were Red Hatters there from several chapters. Made friends with two girls from another chapter whose Queen doesn't like to get involved with other chapters. They find activities to go to on their own. Good for them!! The food was good but the service was a little slow.
I decorated my red hat with green feathers. green beads, and a St. Patty's Day pin. It looked more like Christmas hat.
A great Red Hat day to all.
Happy Thursday!!!
Another nice day- it is in the 50"s. Not bad for March. Last year we had a snow storm on St. Patty's Day- I sure hope this year is different. I'm going to a St. Patty's Day tea on Saturday. I think I'll add green feathers to my red hat.
My grandson, Evan, loves anything to do with Cars.(the movie) Everytime I'm in a store I can't resist buying him things. Today I bought 2 cars, stickers, and a cars gift bag that lights up when you push the button.
Grandchildren are supposed to be spoiled. Just doing my job.
Thank you for the welcome.
It was great to hear from some of my Red Hat Sisters. What a great surprise when I received a message from Kay. Isn't it wonderful how life can be.
I was busy yesterday and wasn't able to reply to my messages. I broke my wrist in November while on vacation in Florida and came home 8 days early. I needed to have surgery and am still doing therapy. That was part of my day. I see the surgeon on Thursday and hopefully this is my last week.
Hello, Red Hat Sisters.
Greetings from the south- South Jersey that is. (Just a little Jersey humor) This is my first post. Winter is almost gone and spring is approaching rapidly. It seems like it was just Christmas. I can't belive it's almost Easter. I can't wait to get out all my frog lawn decorations and celebrate warm weather and summer. We had a very mild winter this year. Looking forward to hearing from my fellow Red Hatters.
