Get Smart (the movie)!

    Tuesday, July 1, 2008, 2:07 PM [General]

You know how much I loved going to see a movie on a Sunday afternoon!  This past Sunday afternoon was no exception!  Steve Carell as the new Maxwell Smart was a hoot!  If you enjoyed the old TV series, you will have alot of fun watching this movie!  The beginning is a little slow, but if you are patient enough to see it through a little further, you will laugh then laugh later on when you get home!

See this one at Matinee prices!  You will have a good time!

See you at the movies, and remember--"Don't kick my seat"!

Also, the third installment of the books she wrote for the RHS (Regina Hale Sutherlind) entitled, "Acting Their Age" is a fun read, too!

    Best wishes,

    Cindy

    Definitely Maybe!

    Hello to all!

Today I went with my Red Hat Society chapter, the Scarlett O'Hatters, to see the movie, "Definitely Maybe"!  Loved it!!  This was a very romantic comedy with some life drama mixed in here and there.  I loved the backdrop as the story was about a man explaining to his daughter how he met her mother!  The man worked as a campaign worker for President Clinton's campaign when he first stated dating!

Ryan Reynolds was fun and handsome as the leading man.  Abigail Breslin was cute and mature beyond her years!   If she doesn't go the way of Britney, we will love her for years!

Isla Fisher is a newcomer (at least to me).  She is a red-head beauty and a wonderful actress!

Kevin Klein returned as a writing professor who has a wry wit with the bite of intelligence to go along with it.  Robert Klein has a cameo scene.

Rachel Weisz was incredible in "The Mummy", but I enjoyed her very much in this one, too!  She seems ageless!

This is a chic flick for all of us who are still hanging on to one last remnant of this past Valentine's Day for joy and sentimentality!

    And remember--Don't kick my seat!

Thanks for sharing, Cindy! We don't have annual Mardi Gras parties, so we've decided to have a Queen Cake and to put a little purple hat token into one piece. Whoever gets that will get a prize. Can't wait! (We're celebrating late, on Feb. 23.) Rita, Queen Foxy Loxy

I love vinyl records! We didn't have many cassettes when I was growing up, and no cds till I was 13. I loved my dad's record collection. I can still sing Snoopy Vs. the Red Baron, and most of Junk food Junkie, along with some John Denver and a few Irish Rovers songs. I love that hiss of the needle running along the surface of the record.

First off: LOVE the Garfunkel song "All I Know". It's beautiful! Second: you're right, I love Gaelic Storm! I'm buying their album Special Reserve right now!

I see from your profile that you like the Marx Borthers; me too! They are definately my favorite comedy team--I never did like the Stooges all that much, and haven't seen much Laurel and Hardy. The Marx Brothers, though, keep me laughing the whole time they're on screen! Especially Chico's wild stories and Groucho's mile-a-minute insults!
