Personal Quote Live each day as if it were your last - as you don't know what tomorrow will bring.
About Me I'm just a silly person in an adult body trying to get out to play.
Interests Working Sudoku puzzles; bicycling around town (when the weather's decent); and reading TONS of mysteries.
Hobbies I have TONS of wolf memorabilia that I've been collecting for years. I just adore WOLVES and give to causes that preserve them.
Music Basically I like soft rock like Seals & Croft; Jim Croce; Gordon Lightfoot; Enya; Lorena McKennitt; and Sarah McLachlin.
Movies Comedies; mysteries; and some light thrillers (like Alfred Hitchcock).
TV Grey's Anatomy; Ugly Betty; Desperate Housewifes; ABC Soap Opera's; some reality TV; and BRAVO and A&E network shows.
Books Female authors are my favorite and there are way TOO many to put here.
Dislikes LIVER, spiders, snakes, and almost any creepy crawley.
Family Both of my parents are deceased; one brother that is 7 years older than me; and one brother that is 10 years older than me.
    Are you a Mother? No
    Are you a Grandmother? No
Pet(s) No pets are allowed (darn it) where I live, its a senior housing unit and I suppose this is because of all the amigo's, canes, walking around here on campus.

    Got myself a Scooter!

    Friday, February 22, 2008, 3:14 AM [General]

Quad Racer Whoopee - I got myself a scooter!  This is basically because of my bad back, hips, knees, and hips.  I already swore to myself that I would use this when I run errands around town and use it like it was a car.  I will however be storing it inside (in the walkway) outside my apartment so that it will be easily accessible.  Where I live there are MUCHO Amigo's (I live in a senior citizen complex) so seeing an Amigo in the hallway is not an exception by any sorts.  Mine is blue and has two baskets attached to it - which will come in handy when I do my grocery runs.  One basket is in the front and the other is placed right behind my hiney and is attached to my seat.  My scooter also has 4 wheels (instead of the usual 3) due to I'm tall - 6'0, and this gives me more leg room plus it is sturdier.

The days of riding my bicycle are long behind me, I fear.  I used to love riding my bike not only for health reasons but it was my only mode of transportation other than my little ol' legs.  The reason for my ending my bike riding?  No, thank God I didn't fall ...  I'm stopping due to lack of being nimble.  You try to hike your leg up and around the seat, my friends.  (Yes I do have a girl's bike, but with bad knees I can't bend my leg like that anymore so I have had to hike it up and around the seat to mount the bike.)  I will be donating my bike to a society that gives bikes away for free to those who need one and can't afford one.  Midland (the town I live in) has a bike drive sometime in the spring so I will be storing it in my storage locker until then.

Today I'm going to hang around the house and play Domestic Diva, I use my scepter to scrape the dirty dishes, use my feathered boa to dance and dust, etc.  You have a great day and remember to live life to the fullest and not to take life so seriously by laughing whenever you can.   Your RHS buddy, Caffeine Carol

    Today's idle chit-chat

    Monday, February 11, 2008, 1:30 PM [General]

        Red Hat Hi All !!

It has been bizzarely cold here only single digits and right now, it's minus 2 with wind gusts at 15-20 mph.  I put my walking over to Walgreen's off not because of the temperature but because I personally don't want to fall on my butt for fear of walking on some black ice and busting my hiney.  (Can you see the cast??)

The hats are still coming in from RHS's store that I ordered recently.  I keep wondering how I'm ever going to wear each and every one.  I've already got my 1970's outfit ordered for the convention in Orlando.  My shirt kinda reminds me of Nehru and I've got some love beads coming, peace sign necklaces and earrings, and the blue jeans are taken care of.

I wish my chapter would do more than going out to dinner once a month for their festivities as I sure love to wear the purple and red and chat with my fellow RHS'ers.

Have a great day and I'll post later.  Carol

Hi Carol, Love your name. I am going for my second cup in a minute... I also love mysteries too. What are you reading now? I am finishing up Dust by Martha Grimes. We had bad weather yesterday, so when I left work at 8:00 pm I stayed at my sons house. Whew!! I hate those kind of storms, white outs and you can't see a thing... Have a great day and talk to you again soon. By the way , have you ever tried Gevalia coffee? Just my two cents for today. your friend in New York State. Helen
