Hey Wonderful Red Hatting Friends!
I am so down and out and let me tell you why... *pout*
Last week my chapter spent a wonderful lunch with the nice Red Hat Ladies of Sun City (near Austin) and their guest of honor was the one and only HELOISE!!! She was really a fantastic speaker! Afterwards, we went up and begged for her to take a picture with my group... The picture went to the internal part of my camera (and not on the memory card) and I cannot get the darn thing off to show you guys!!!! (and man...was I looking hot!!!! *LOL*) Take my word for it, Heloise was gorgeous and my entire group of Yellow Red Roses were bling blinging beautiful!!!! I wish I could show you!!! Does anyone know where I can get a USB cable for a Kodak Easyshare 7 series???? *sigh*
Here is the latest of the greatest grandbabies in the world!!!! Where is Ally and Aiden???
Happy New Years All!
Current mood: blissful
I cannot believe 2007 has flown by so fast! It was only yesterday when I was discussing things I wanted to do for the new year of 2007, but in reality it has been one whole year! Some of the things on my list of to dos, I never accomplished, but on the majority, I did them..and I did them well. In September of this year, I made some major plans in my life and got both lasek surgery on my eyes and on October 1st, went through lap band surgery. Both were major decisions and very costly projects due to the fact that my insurance would not pay for either.
My eye surgery hasn't been as well as I expected it to be, but I am seeing without any form of eye correction what so ever. In February I may have to get corrective surgery due to the fact that my left eye isn't improving as well as my right eye and I walk around lop sided all the time. I don't think that will be something major, just a minor adjustment.
The lap band surgery went well, I have lost almost 40 pounds. The Christmas Holidays are killing me though...I want and crave food! I have only had 1 fill thus far and it was a minor, The surgeon will 'fill' me again next week and I hope that will make a difference for me. But I am still continueing to walk daily (which I believe is making all the difference)
The most fantastic part of the year was the birth of my grandson, Aiden on September 20 of this year. He is such a joy! He smiles and coos and warms my heart so. Just before Christmas, our poor little man had a bout of RSV and had to spend 10 days in the hospital with a oxygen tube attached to his nose. It is so heartbreaking to see such a little one all helpless like that. But he is doing so much better now. Even when he was sick, he was such a trouper! Always a smile.
His sister, Ally, is the light of my life. She is so witty and smart. (but also so crafty and sneaky....SHE'S A GREAT EXAMPLE OF TERRIBLE BUT LOVEABLE TWOS!!!!)
I thank God everyday for my greater than great daughter and her husband John, for my father and his great health, for my sister and her understanding and for my buddies that love me whatever...(and I mean whatever! *LOL*) I also thank the Good Lord for a friend that I thought was gone that reappeared. It just shows that God hears our prayers.
My wish for everyone is a great and loving 2008. May your wishes come true, even those you thought were never possible. I love you all. Please keep in touch.
