I went to a luncheon today with the Blazing Rebels.  So looks like I have found a Red Hat Chapter to join.  All the ladies are so nice and friendly.  It seemed like I had known them for years instead of just meeting them for the first time. 

Also, yesterday I filled out an application to do some local volunteer work at our Thermal Belt Outreach Mission.  Looks like I have a chance to get to know some locals finally and also do some good.  On that same day, I went shopping and the cashier noticed my Red Hat purse and asked if I was a Red Hat.  She went on to tell me there is another local group and she will have them give me a call.  Well, I haven't heard from her yet, but I have found a group and am very happy about it. 

A few days ago I went to my first local meeting with the ladies of the Daffy Jill Garden Club.  They are such a lovely group of women.  We had refreshments and then a speaker from a local nursery speaking about different plant selections for our area.  I hope I will be able to join the club in a month or so.  It is so nice to meet people living locally in a social context.  So far I have only met people working for me or at local businesses and churches.  Perhaps it will even improve my garden.
