Here it is the 17th of February alreay. The month sure has flown by. This past week has flown by and seems that so much has happened. Between work and home, not sure where things have been the busiest.

     One of the long time members of the Peer Support center I work at died suddenly Wednesday of a massive heart attack. We found out Thursday morning about the time were to go on our routes to pick up everyone for the Valentine Party. What a way to start off that day.

     Dan was the first one I picked up on my long route. We always discussed what kind of day it was. Sometimes it was a purplish day and sometimes maybe a bluish day. Just depended on the color I had on. Then we discussed what pin I was wearing. Some days were the doggiest and some the giraffist. Just depended on what I had on. Whatever the day, we made up silly words to describe the day. He is going to be missed by all of us so much. He knew how to make us all feel good even on a bad day.

     Friday we took a few members to Dan's funeral. It was a short but really nice funeral. Dan looked so peaceful and handsome. He was in a nice suit and I had never seen him in one before. I am just glad he isn't in pain anymore. And he was just 47 years old!

     Shortly after I got home Friday, my sister called me about my mom. They live in KY and momma has been in a nursing home following a bad break in her leg. She has alzheimers and was doing pretty good still with that but after the fall that broke her leg, she seems to be getting worse and Sandy told me she didn't think momma would ever go back to her apartment. Her short term memory is getting worse.

     I called momma at the nursing home today and was able to get through to talk to her. She sounded younger than she has in years. Not sure if that is a good sign or bad one. At any rate, me and hubby will be making a trip to KY to see her soon.

     And the last thing I got was good news. My sister is engaged. I am so happy for her. She has been divorced for many years and I am so glad she has finally found someone she wants to share her life with again.

     I know a lot of people have had a lot harder weeks. I was just in a feel sorry for me mood I guess.

     Good morning. Just thought I better write some this morning before I go to work. I haven't done it in a while now. About time I did it again. I guess I have just been too lazy to type!

     I made a Red Hat purse yesterday morning after my hubby left for work. I stopped at a quilt shop the day before and got material and trim. It was an easy purse to make so it didn't take but an hour or so and I think turned out cute.

     It is Ground Hog's Day today and they are about to see if Phil sees his shadow. I sure hope not. We haven't had a lot of bad weather but it sure has been cold.  I am so ready for warmer temps. The cold goes thorugh me these days. Guess I am just getting old.

     Our chapter has its first organized meeting Monday afternoon. I think we are all really looking forward to that. We finally get a chance to all get dressed up with our clothes and hats. Should be fun since we are going to have a tea too.

     Phil saw his shadow and the means 6 more weeks of winter. I think it is time to do the groundhog in! I want spring and warmer temps. Maybe the one in Georgia won't see his and spring will come here.

     Time for me to quit rattling on and go. Got to get ready for work. Stay safe and well all.   Alice
