It's been a winter without snow so far this year. The weather has been between 65 and 73 degrees here lately. I'm in Jasper, Alabama. Tomorrow I'm looking forward to going Christmas shopping with two friends, should be fun.
Jasper Red Hats in October
Yesterday we went to Garfield's restaurant in the Jasper Mall. This was the biggest chapter get-together yet! Good times, Good conversations, and I think I'm getting the hang of being Queen of the chapter. One of my gals brought me a gift, a pink and lavender hat - so beautiful. Another one of my gals brought me a book on Red Hatters (a mystery, maybe) can't wait to read it then pass it on to the next member in our group.
If U sent a Get Well card...
I just talked to my Red Hatter (member) who is recovering from Hip Replacement surgery and she was "thrilled" to get mail from other Hatters across the U.S. and Canada.
Thank you for responding so quick to my request, this is from the bottom of my heart!
send Get Well card, please
Hello,
There is a member from my chapter that just got out of the hospital after having Hip Replacement surgery. Let's send her "Get Well" cards as I'm sure she would really appreciate some encouragement.

New Chapter
How do you get group members to join your chapter? I put an Ad in the local newspaper and I got 6 responses. We decided to meet at a local bakery and deli in downtown Jasper. We had a good time, ate some wonderful food and took a picture to remember the event. As queen of this chapter, I think this has been a successful day!
I Did It
How did I get my members to join? I put an Ad in the local newspaper and had 6 responses. We decided to meet at Lady Bug's Bakery & Deli on June 27th. Everybody agreed to pay the membership fee and I was telling everyone some ideas that we can do together. I think they all liked the T-shirt idea and possibly the mascot idea too. We will remember this occasion because pictures were taken! Yay! Yeah!
2nd Year Anniversary
I am a happy person today! It has been 2 years since I decided to join the Red Hat Society and boy I am glad that I did. Although I haven't been to too many events, I still met some really nice people by going to them. This year, I signed up again and renewed as a queen! I have my own chapter, that's exciting! I also had some calling cards made so that I can pass my information to as many people as possible. How exciting, I am so looking forward to a July event that I signed up for where I will be going on a two hour lunch & cruise with entertainment and the chance to get to know many others.
RHS meet up
Tomorrow will be my 2nd time meeting up with a chapter that is close. We are the "Red Top Hatters" and I will be joining their group officially in May when I renew my membership.. woohoo!
It's getting cold outside again, I think snow is in the forecast for tomorrow. Brrr.
It is so nice to be able to use this site to see what's happening elsewhere.
Oh! Guess what? My younger sister is coming here next month to visit me, I am so excited. I'm going to bring her to a couple of RHS meet-ups and see how she likes it, if she does, I'm giving her a gift membership and I even found a chapter near her area that she can join.. I talked to the queen and everything.
Feb 2012
First off I would like to wish everyone reading this a Happy New Year. Things have been going great lately. My husband was home for 2 months in November and December 2011 and we got our house finally. Yay!! Also I moved into the house before my husband, he went back to work before the last signing so he got to enjoy the house in January for 2 weeks. Haha I met a group of RHS on January 21 that is a bit closer to where I live and I will join their chapter. When I renew my membership in May, I will be in the group "Red Top Hatters". I get to host the chapter meeting in March this year. another Yay!! moment. I updated my profile picture here too.
Party in Decatur, AL
Yesterday was the 10th Anniversary of the chapter "Les Femmes Elegantes" and they celebrated at a country club in Decatur. Guess what? I was invited. The honored guest was Linda Murphy and I got to meet her. There were clothes, hats, and bling for sale. A lunch was served and dancing by "The Hot Flash Dancers" who used their boas. Awards and gifts were given out along with door prizes. Pictures were taken with Linda Murphy with an option to buy.
I really enjoyed this gathering. I sat at a table with 6 other graceful ladies and I met Glenda McCord who really made an impression on me. When I introduced myself, she smiled and gave me a hug! We exchanged contact information and I was on my way. If only I had met her earlier, I would have tried to get to know her even better.
My chapter queen, Mary Forbes, made an effort to introduce me to as many ladies as she could. I really appreciated that.
